Staying at an AirBnb in Pinheiros, our host directed us just a few blocks away to a central part of the neighborhood with tons of options. So less than 5 mins later we stumble into a glorious sign reading, "MEATS". Sold! Though I can read Portuguese I did appreciate that the menu was available in English as well. In fact, this American inspired eatery was like a business that had been plucked from Portland, Oregon and placed in central Sao Paolo. From the decor to the drink and food menu, everything had an air of American comfort food to it, with a slight Brazilian spin. Instead of just chicken nuggets they had fried chicken hearts! And instead of serving meat well done, it was cooked on the rare side. Very rare. But that was what made the burger fantastic. I know a lot of people are worried about rare meats but having been in Brazil for the previous two weeks and traveled around to various cities and states, I noticed this was a bit of a trend in all of the restaurants I visited. If you haven't had rare beef, you're missing out because Brazilian beef is among the best in the world. To cook it too thoroughly is to kill the flavor. So we dove face first into the burger we shared and enjoyed it thoroughly. The cocktail list was pretty standard and my cocktail bartender boyfriend loved his Negroni. I opted for a whiskey sour and it was pretty decent. We did notice that the drinks were a little pricier than we'd expected, but when the bartender poured a whopping 3 ounces of liquor into the drinks it suddenly all made sense. Leaving will our tummies full and our brains a little foggy from the booze, this was a great first date spot for us on our recent trip to Sao Paolo. Definitely get those chicken hearts!

The prices are good and the fries and drinks are great, but I have found an issue with the burgers…read more We asked for our burgers to be cooked Medium and they came out RAW. They were just seared on the outside. I like bloody burgers, but these were not cooked at all. We asked that they be put back on the grill and they said they do not recook, but that they would grill us new burgers. We got the new burgers a few minutes later and they really were not cooked much more. Not sure what the issue is about being able to cook Medium burgers.

First off, this is legit Thai. The dishes are authentic and delicious. They have wonderful cocktails. They have lots of vegetarian options!!! We frequented this restaurant several time during our stay in Brasil. The food was always delicious, though the service would range from fabulous to nonexistent. A few times my veggie tom kha soup had to be sent back because it arrived with chicken in it. (And trust me, we ordered in Portuguese.) However, despite the occasional mistakes, and the occasional rude server, we still loved the restaurant. They have great lunch specials as well! A must try if you love Thai.

The experience was nice but nothing special. My husband and I decided to go back this weekend so I could determine if maybe it was just the chef that night that didn't deliver what was expected. Honestly the environment is so relaxing it's hard not to want to dine here. We tried to order the lamb curry and they "were out". We thought okay this is opportunity to order some completely different plates. We ordered the duck curry and efu noodles. The food arrived and the curry looked and smelled delicious, as soon as we took our first bite we both agreed it was lacking that tangy kick , it had the spice but nothing else, barely even any flavor. We were surprised because it smelled so good! We asked for lime and salt to add ourselves which made it much better. The noodles were so so and overall I was a disappointed and we probably won't be coming back but I will say the restaurant is beautiful, relaxing, and romantic and the staff is very warm and helpful. They just need to get a chef that contributes to the wonderful setup they have there.
