Rocky Patel Cigar
Ken S.

Enjoyed a nice Rocky Patel cigar at this bar. The bar has comfortable leather couches and the entrance is open to enjoy the natural breeze off the river. The service was good as we were helped finding our favorite cigars.

Quick smoke

Great cigar selection, not too pricey. Enjoyed sipping our cocktails and having a smoke. Only downside, the auto tip that they add when you use a CC for the drinks. Next time we'll pay and tip cash. Overall nice spot to check out while in NOLA!

Excellent selection of fresh hi quality cigars. Friendly and helpful staff. Up beat atmosphere and plenty of comfortable spots to sit and enjoy your cigar.

Whiskey & an UNDERCROWN cigar

During my trip to New Orleans I had big plans to hit a bunch of cigar bars and enjoy some good smokes. Honestly there aren't as many cigar bars as you might think but I did find Don Leoncio. I made two visits and Easy & Brandon were very helpful with the cigars and quick pourers and gave a decent size pour as well. I didn't travel with many other whiskey/cigar people but that didn't matter because the staff are friendly and knowledgeable conversationalist. Just short of five stars and that's only because I'm used to fancy pants Vegas lounges.

I have been visiting this cigar shop for YEARS and have enjoyed my experience until my trip over Mardi Gras weekend. My friends and I were enjoying cigars and made four different cigar purchases on the same day during the same visit. The first transaction was $16.50 for a $15.00 cigar. My usual but thought nothing of it. The second transaction was $24 for two $10 cigars. I questioned the guy who was checking me out on the pricing. He claimed it was taxes. The third transaction was 3 Crown and Cokes, usually $7 each this time $12 each. The forth transaction was $28 for the same cigars purchased for the second transaction. I understand slightly rising the prices for Mardi Gras but I believe they were adjusting the prices at the discretion of whoever was checking you out at the time of purchase. The prices being charged did not match the receipt OR the amount charged on my account. Be warned...

Upon our arrival on the first evening, we were kindly greeted by Ebony. We proceeded to find seating in the lounge, and I then made my way to the restroom. While washing my hands, I noticed that the soap dispenser was empty. I informed Ebony of this, and she promptly notified her colleagues, and the dispenser was refilled without delay. After washing my hands, I rejoined my party at our table. Ebony entered the lounge to check on all guests, and upon noticing our readiness to order, she approached us and asked if we had any questions. I inquired about a specific cocktail, and although she was unsure of the answer, she offered to consult the bartender on my behalf, which I greatly appreciated. Upon her return, we placed our drink orders, and she continued to check on us throughout the evening as we ordered additional rounds of drinks. During our conversation, I asked if she could recommend any exceptional dining establishments that catered to our preferred cuisine for our visit. She engaged with us and asked about our culinary interests. She went above and beyond by providing a list of several places tailored to our preferences, all of which proved to be delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, including the service, beverages, and atmosphere. However, it was truly the outstanding service provided by Ebony that made us eager to return. The following evening, we returned with the hope of seeing Ebony, but unfortunately, she was not present. This did not discourage us from staying. We took our seats, and it was quite some time before anyone attended to us. When Audrey finally approached, I asked her if she knew whether Ebony would be working that evening. She informed us that Ebony was no longer with them. Consequently, we understood that Ebony no longer worked at the establishment. We then ordered and received our cocktails. When we were ready to order another round, Audrey was clearing tables, and we asked if we could place another order. She requested a moment. After she finished clearing and cleaning all the tables, she proceeded to retrieve all the lamps from the storage cabinet to place on the tables without putting our drink order in, as we already had an open tab. A table that had been cleared still contained a customer's cigar cutter, lighter, drink, and water. The customer returned from the restroom with a confused expression, as he had not finished his cigar and drinks. Audrey then stated, "Oh, I thought you were done," with an unapologetic demeanor, and escorted him to the humidor to retrieve another cigar. Audrey returned to the lounge, and another couple attempted to clarify to Audrey that the other customer had not yet finished. Audrey, however, responded with a nonchalant attitude, stating "Oh, he was done." As Audrey exited from the lounge, we observed Ebony entering the lounge. We informed her that we were under the impression she no longer worked there. She inquired as to why we held that belief, and we clarified that Audrey had conveyed that information to us. Audrey provided unsatisfactory service and we were ready to close out our tab as we still did not receive or next round of drinks. Following all of that, Audrey eventually asked if we were ready to place our order, and we chose not to order the drinks we had desired earlier in the evening due to her lack of service. Once more, with an unapologetic and nonchalant demeanor, Audrey stated, "That's fine." Ebony came out to close out our tab but we indeed ordered another round due to Ebony's service. Had we encountered Audrey on our first evening, we certainly would not have returned for a second night. Therefore, we extend our gratitude to Ebony for making our initial visit enjoyable and for encouraging our return. Should we have the occasion to return, I would respectfully decline to have Audrey as our service person and would choose not to patronize this establishment unless we could have Ebony as our service person.

As the night went on, it got more lively, especially with the music it really set the tone without being overwhelming. The cigar selection was solid, and the staff was friendly and helpful when it came to recommendations. Drinks were good overall, though not the main highlight. This is definitely more of a "come to relax, smoke, and vibe" kind of spot rather than a place you go for a full dining experience. A couple small downsides: service can be a little inconsistent depending on how busy it gets, and the food didn't really stand out. But honestly, that's not why you come here. Overall, it's a great spot to chill with friends, enjoy a cigar, and catch some live music on the weekend. I'd come back for the atmosphere alone.

We initially were going to a sports bar across the street when Whiskey and Ashe caught our eye. What a great find and experience. Spoiler alert I like cigars and bourbon and Whiskey and Ashe exceeded my expectations. They have a wall of bourbon and rye plus and additional spirits and beer for non-brown liquor drinkers. since we were the only ones in the bar our bartender took excellent care of us. We had many samples and the local Louisiana Seven Three Distillery rye was one of my favorites. If you want a smoke they have a fully stocked humidor and cigar specials. There is a very comfortable outside area with TVs. We all agreed that if Whiskey and Ashe were in our area, we would live here! Since we were ride sharing we spent the afternoon here, ordered food from next door and shared it with our bartender/bourbon guide. Plus one is now a bourbon drinker (sort of) as she was introduced to a bourbon espresso martini. Wow, it was delicious.! Our bartender, Griffin, was young but so knowledgeable and he expertly guided us through our tastings. Pro tip: If Griffin your bartender tell him the folks from Austin said he needs to tell you his apple joke.
