After receiving a $4700 quote to replace the transmission in my FIVE-YEAR-OLD Fusion from Apple…read moreFord, I turned to the good folks at Lynchburg Transmissions for something more affordable. Boy, did they come through! I was able to get a rebuilt transmission for half the price, and they even went above and beyond to help me fix my air conditioning, which had also gone bad. (Did I mention that my car is FIVE YEARS OLD?!?! ) Apple Ford quoted me a price of over $700 to fix the A/C, but my service tech at Lynchburg Transmissions got his hands on a used compressor and only charged me $150. My car is now driving perfectly, and I'm so happy to have A/C again, after a long, sweltering summer without it. I STRONGLY recommend Lynchburg Transmissions for any and all service you may need!

I was a little shocked, but called Bob and he answered the phone and discussed my options. I dropped the vehicle off and Bob was there to greet me when I walked in. He took my keys and information, which was quick and simple in a comfortable environment. Later, when I called about my Nissan, I was given an estimate that was easily understood, and then advised about my options. No charge. I was not upsold or treated with anything but honesty. I appreciate integrity. I had a blown head gasket and they told me I needed a tune up, 1000 dollars later I'm left with the same problem I had before taking it to them. In fact, you are probably better off doing the fluid and filters yourself and avoiding this shop completely. I shouldn't have to pay for your guesswork, people expect you to know what you're doing.

I have never taken any of our cars to this place without them being returned with another problem…read moreor having created another issue. They once replaced a radiator in a car without first pressure testing it. A fundamental step in radiator replacement. The radiator leaked. So they had the gall to charge me for the first installation AND for the removal of the bad part and installation of what, I guess, they hoped was a good part. Picked up car and there was no heat. They had failed to burp the cooling system using the small plug on the holding tank made for that purpose. Another time, I arrived 8-10 minutes before closing only to find the office doors locked and my car in the lot UNLOCKED. I had a valet key and I drove the car home. My wife took her car to this place for an oil change and State Inspection. The 'mechanic' left off the access panel under the chassis for oil pan access. I was told they could not get the part for weeks. I found the panel on eBay for $15. I have not used this place for some time now, but I felt it necessary to forewarn people who are considering taking their vehicle to Forest Automotive. BEWARE.
