Chair going through deck floor which tossed my wife off the deck barely missing the propane tank.

Everything, bugs in light fixtures, dated even for a cabin, way overpriced and non existent management. Wife fell off deck when chair went through rotted section barely missing propane tank. This venue is not safe for the elderly to walk. No response when reporting issues.

Our nice cabin upon check-in at 10:30pm - never cleaned, curtains hanging off the wall.

Updated review - although everything below did happen - the owner was kind enough to refund both nights that we paid for so that was very nice. My only suggestion would be to somehow arrive before check - in time when the office or little cafe is open to confirm your room is clean. Silly to have to do that but looking at other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing problem. :-( Hopefully the owners read these reviews & will work to make some changes because the cabins & grounds are amazing in a great location. It would be sad to see this old place close down. First review: The room was disgusting when we arrived at 10:30pm on a Friday night for Fathers Day weekend even though we spoke to the staff several times that day & they knew the cabin we were checking in to. All the previous guests dirty sheets, towels, etc were everywhere. No one to call, no one to text. There weren't even extra sheets or towels if we had decided to deal with it til morning & change the bed. We ended up having to rent another hotel in Sedona at 11pm. They finally called back Saturday morning & said the place was clean now do we want to come back. Ummmmm no! They said they would refund the weekend, still hasn't happened. I will update this review if they make things right. Imagine if we didn't have another $700 to shell out for 2 more nights at another hotel?

I had the best vacation experience at Don Hoel's Cabins hands down I recommend anyone that's looking for serenity & a good soul cleansing experience! The staff was all the very best on the business! Very compassionate & helpful in all ways! Put your phones down & enjoy what's good for your soul at Don Hoels Cabins in Sedona/Oak Creek!

If you're looking for that quaint getaway with rustic cabin living, so you can unplug and concentrate on your bae, then you gotta give this place a shot. They have a little market on premises which is open daily from 7am to 7pm. This is the only area of the property which offers wifi, so you wont be surfing in your lodging. The store offers a limited supply of grab-and-go but also features made-to-order coffee and pizza. Check in is at 3:00pm sharp. If you show up at 2:31pm, they'll offer you an early check in option for only $35. I found the amenities to be sufficient, as the units include an outdoor propane grill, microwave, mini refrigerator, sink, dishes, pots/pans, cutlery, and coffee maker. I found the bed to be comfortable, but there is no air conditioning. Our unit had a ceiling fan and additional tabletop fan, which we used extensively during out 96 degree September visit. The hot water was on point. Dare I say it was even hotter than what my home water heater can produce. There is a private access to Oak Creek directly across the street from the property, and the water there is nice and cold. Perfect for losing a pair of expensive sunglasses, and for staging an impromptu rescue mission in the buff. The grounds, however, could use some upkeep, as the common recreational area is overgrown and dilapidated. Overall a great place for a short sabbatical in the throes of nature.

Breakfast with a view!

We were on our way to the Grand Canyon and saw this little cafe on the side of the road. We pulled over to give them a shot. Breakfast was 100x better than I expected! The frittata was delicious and hot. It came in a cast iron skillet. The waffles are more cake like but they hit the spot. The sausage and bacon were perfect. And two breakfast burritos were inhaled. We enjoyed our breakfast outdoors. We took a short stool around the property while we waited for our breakfast. The cabins are super cute. Each one had their own outdoor seating area. They had a hammock and a love lock area. LOVE this sweet touch!! Looking forward to our first stay at Don Hoels Cabins.

Speaking clearly on the coffee shop and espressos and the new person running the coffee shop . The shop has a little bit of everything there. Certainly everything was better because of the lady working there. Incredible personality, high energy and very professional. My wife and I loved the coffee. Great place to stop for coffee if your are staying here or staying in the canyon.

The staff is very friendly and eager to make your custom coffee drink.

We stopped at the coffee shop here on our way to Sedona. The coffee shop is great! The owner/barista has everything needed and the skills to make a first rate custom drink. We had a lavender honey latte with coconut milk and a decaf latte made with soy milk. Both were excellent. It is a very welcoming place. A must stop if you are in the area.

What an amazing place. This was our 3rd time staying here. Pet friendly, plenty of space, and management is very helpful and friendly. You are able to go onto the website and make your reservation in advanced. Highly recommend due to being sold out quite often. So plan accordingly. We've stayed in cabin 8, 9, and 17. Cabin 8 was the biggest with plenty of room for a family of 4 with a small dog. Accommodations are well cleaned and taken care of. They take plenty of covid precautions and you are made to feel at home. One of the biggest conveniences is the market. They have everything from Advil to made to order food. That's if you don't want to prepare your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen. I definitely recommend bringing your own food supplies to enjoy every aspect of the cabin and it amenities. There is plenty to do around the cabins, but if you want to go to flagstaff it's only a 30 min drive.

Love this place for how clean the cabin was when we arrived and the serenity of peacefulness inside the woods. We decided to do a cabin vacation for our 6-month-old baby celebration and we are glad we chose this one. It is very near to the Sedona uptown and reaching here was easy as it is just next to the main road towards the flagstaff. Checkin was quick and easy. The cabin was well prepared and clean, especially during this pandemic. The cabin has everything you would need to cook. Has full kitchen with all utensils and cutleries including the tools you would need for barbeque. They even kept a Keurig in the cabin and also a dishwashing liquid. Kudos to them. Cabins with a full kitchen will have a dedicated propane barbeque as well kept outside. The property has some 15+ cabins and we stayed in Cabin 3. The property is so well maintained and it was very peaceful. This place has private access to the creek as well and it is just 30 seconds of walk far when you cross the road. Phone signals are not available here but they have kept a landline phone in case you need to call anyone. Wifi is available in the main lobby only but we were getting signals at one side of our cabin#3 as well. But I doubt you would have a signal if your cabin is not nearer ones. The market is not open late but if you can plan, then you can get everything you need before they close. Restaurant closing time is too early (4 pm when we went) but I bet you would be prepared with food and drinks anyways when you go on cabin vacation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Sedona and looking for a serene environment to stay instead of a loud and crowded hotel.

Terrible customer service, rude front desk ladies. If you plan to host a wedding plan for your guest to use portable bathrooms.

As we're cruising down the main street we passed The Inn Above Oak Creek and noticed they had a lit-up vacancy sign. We immediately went in and met with the inn keeper who offered to let us go see the room before we committed to booking. This is THE cutest little 13 room inn set right on Oak Creek. There is seating down by the creek, on the patio off the main room, and inside the main room itself that all have great views. Our room was very spacious with a 2-person sized bathtub and a fireplace! It had truly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. My husband was obsessed and wanting to know how we could copy it to have at home. Both of the inn managers were so kind and took such good care of us. You could feel how much they care for the inn and value their guests. There's always coffee and water set out. They have homemade cookies in the afternoon and homemade muffins in the morning. They have a bookshelf with various options for reading and a large selection of movies. On the coffee table, they have binders full of recommendations for trails and exploring the area. It was such a cute and intimate place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Sedona and I'd love to stay here again! We truly couldn't have found a better place to stay for Valentine's Day. However, when we initially arrived, the young front desk agent with red hair appeared to be on a personal phone call. She ended the call by saying "I love you," which made it seem like it may have been a conversation with a friend. After the call she greeted us, but throughout the interaction she seemed unsure and a bit confused about the information she was giving. I would strongly suggest additional training on customer service and job knowledge to ensure guests feel welcomed and confident in the information they receive. Especially at a property where guests are paying around $1,000 a night, first impressions and professionalism are very important. Aside from that initial front desk experience, everything else about our stay was wonderful.

Luxurious linens and comfortable bed was a big win for me as I am a very sensitive sleeper. The attention to details and ensure your level of comfort are thoughtful, The all inclusive non alcoholic beverages and snacks in the room was a plus. Beautiful spa, small but again the most gorgeous interior design for the treatment room I have everseen. The spa locker room is a bit strange with a toilet inside without an enclosure. They only have one sauna outside and no shower unless you arrange with the desk. I also tried the oxygen bath...not exactly sure what it did except to feel like just soak in a bath tub :) my therapist was nice but feel green, she did her job and check in for pressure but didn't really deliver and addressed my issue. I was very tired from my early morning hike and felt asleep yet my awareness I know my massage felt like it was rubbing oil or a lotion application instead of a true therapeutic works. The restaurant could use some improvement with their cooking techniques as the food was just mediocre, lack of balance, flavor and strakbwas overcooked. I would leave the property for other food options on my next stay. Breakfast was fine, not a wowzer but it came with the stay so we are it, dinner were somewhat disappointed. Regardless we enjoyed our stay, LOVE and appreciate how attentive the guest services team are, and everyone delivered an above and beyond 5 star service and well run establishment.
