Don Chico's 3 in Damascus is open!
Located in the old Dairy Queen building.
Nice, clean, refreshed, dining room.
Friendly service.
Great food.
We stopped in for dinner, mid week, when it wouldn't be super busy.
We were greeted at the counter by friendly servers that were ready to take our orders.
For our first visit we chose to try a couple of our all time Mexican food favs; the carne asada plate and a chicken taco salad. Both were VERY good! I especially loved the taco salad. I requested ranch dressing with it, which they included on the side for me. Instead of the typical taco salad loaded with beans and pico this salad was primarily real salad mix, topped with a bunch of very flavorful chicken, sour cream and guacamole. Even the tortilla bowl was fried deliciousness. The carne asada was very flavorful and well grilled. It came with generous sides that were all really great.
There's a salsa bar with many choices of sauces and other toppings available.
There is a drive thru that is open until 10pm but the dining room closes a little earlier (9 or 9:30pm if I remember right).
They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with breakfast service starting at 6am.
Lots of easy parking available in the lot.
The price point isn't any higher than any of the other local Mexican spots that we frequent in the area. Our meal total actually came out approx. the same price as when we visit the local taco carts, or smaller diners, locally.
It's nice to have a new, dine in, Mexican spot in town. We'll be back to try more things on the large menu. Give them a try! read more
