Formerly, they would change their menu every week or two. The current menu has not changed in a long time. It is, hmmm, less exciting. Perhaps less variety. In the past, they had several unique soups from the strawberry gazpacho to a potato leek soup. Now, they have had a Rahmen noodle one (think packed with MSG) I could buy at Aldi for under 1€, for weeks. The flank steak tapa portion is large, but unchewable. Their carved Iberico ham has LOTS of fat - more fat than meat. They now skimp on offering olives before dinner by offering a tiny cup of popcorn. We also noticed their prices have increased. Currently, their competition in the same block outshines them.

From what I know it offers the same food, the restaurant ist just a little nicer. Plus there are some fresh fish to choose from as well, looked pretty nice. I went for tapas, prices were more than fair and a few cent cheaper than in other places more central. Quality was really good. The Oxtail and the cheese empanadas were one of my favourites, but just sheep cheese with red wine is basically enough to make me smile :) On some orders they messed up the fries a bit, kinda took them out too early, but well, guess that happens, rest of the food was really awesome Definitely one of my favorites places in town. I was told though for the restaurant its best to make a reservation and for the tapas place show up early, since this place is normally quite crowded.

The whole place is more like a locals meet-up. Which is a nice thing. Coming here after work, having a drink and a chat. But we were also very welcome and staff was friendly and very helpful (no english menu). Our dog was welcome even inside. The menu is quite big. Lots of sandwiches and small plates. Also some daily specials on the counter. Prices are really low. We ordered a ham/cheese hot sandwich, a tuna sandwich, some chicken skewers and some kind of beef stew. All was prepared freshly (except the stew from the counter). Real nice, homemade food. The best item was definitely the beef stew. Good meat and a rich, thick sauce full of flavours. Good stuff. We would have come more often, would there not have been some kind of drifter (that nobody seemed to know) that evening, who was acting out quite a bit weird and pretty much bothered everybody (including the staff). But it's a great little place with friendly staff and locals and good food for low prices.

So nothing you have to go to when in La Linea, but if you just wanna grab something to eat i definately prefer this option to the surrounding kebab places or anything :)

But place from my opinion though is directly sit outside at the window and have a look at the grill and the chef :) All the beef is from Argentina and you can see that the chef who's what he's doing. For me personally I don't find this the best place to go to for a steak in La Linea price/quality-wise, but I mainly don't prefer things like proper tables etc, I just go for the food and not the atmosphere, so if you wanna "go out" for a steak, I'd probably go here, hence it's not my favourite place overall, it's really good! (as said personal preference)
