My friend learned that this location is closing forever after Oct. 4. It is the only Indiana…read morelocation left. So yesterday we took a special trip to get our favorites. I ordered a bowl of their chicken tortilla soup and a Cajun chicken penne pasta entree which came with a breadstick. I mentioned to my friend that I used to get that pasta entree with linguine when it was like $9.99 at O'Charley's. Then she told me that all O'Charley's are permanently closed. What!!! I can't get my favorite yeast rolls anymore. I researched it later and yes, the financial group decided to focus on their other diverse businesses. So no longer a stop on our trip to Max and Erma's. Well, back to reviewing Max and Erma's. I told my friend that their website lists 4 other cities but no states. I heard that the next closest location in the Lancaster. I need to contact their corporate. My soup was spicy and awesomely delicious with the crispy tortilla strips. I think it was my first time eating their pasta and it filled me up half way through the entree even with only eating 2 grapes for breakfast. Breadstick was below par. I still got my points for my purchase. I planned to buying takeout of their amazing chicken tortilla soup. After walking around at the outlet mall, we returned so I bought 2 bowls of the chicken tortilla soup - one each for the next two days. I will just warm them on the stove. I received points for this second purchase and do not know what is minimum I can ever redeem. Farewell Max and Erma's as I do not foresee going to one of the remaining locations. Likewise good-bye O'Charley's.

I found zero issue with any part of the experience and would call the meal no less than quaint and enjoyable. Theresa was a fabulous server, and very accommodating, even with the limited vegetarian options available. The food was great, though nothing extraordinary. It was simply good food--nothing more, nothing less--and that's really all anyone needs. Will definitely be recommending this place to any of my colleagues who happen to pass through the area on work trips.

As always in our reviews we started with an appetizer and we chose the Cheesy Bacon House Tots. They were delicious!! The spicy ketchup while nothing fancy added a great variety to oppose the ranch our wonderful server Joe recommended without hesitation. You can also add the warm soft rolls to the app experience. They were even more tasty. Could eat a ton of those alone and be happy! For our mains she got steak and shrimp and chose grilled shrimp as opposed to fried. She absolutely loved the steak and said it was exactly what she needed! The shrimp sadly, was not, she took a bite and had a reaction I haven't seen before. We believe the seasoning was just not to her taste. Our server Joe again was right on the spot and offered the solution to swap for the fried shrimp and they were so much better in her opinion. We cannot thank Joe enough for being so friendly and professional. She had mashed potatoes for her side and was not blown away but that is perfectly okay. The meal came with a salad, however it was okay at best. The uncut veg while visually appealing takes away from the eating experience. As for my main I ordered Messy Mike's Burger without the fresh red onion to medium well temp. The temp was overdone, but truthfully is no big deal to me. It was still tasty and very flavorful. An item I would order again for sure!!! The French fries were crispy and well seasoned and the green beans were also a great addition to the meal. Overall the food was great and alone is a 4 star given the remedy. The big driving force for the 5 star was the fantastic service provided by Joe. It isn't often I mention the server, but he was attentive, kept our drinks full, was polite and the true home run was the quick remedy of the issue with the shrimp. We hope the tip we left was enough to show him that we appreciated him and thought he did well!! We will return and hope to have him as a server again.

Great crust and a hard to beat pizza sauce are just the beginning. My wife had a Greek side salad that scored even more points. Paired with her cheese pizza. I had pepperoni and sausage. To start our service was friendly as always. There is not a large crew at this place since it is small and attached to the gas station. All are friendly. The salsa was extra cold and tasted fresh, we added a queso and a guacamole and both were very tasty as well. Not a huge point for us but the sodas are always very crispy here!! For food I ordered the basic Arroz con Pollo and my girlfriend got her favorite dish from here so far in the Pollo Monterrey. No complaints as both dishes seem to never miss. We do wish that corn tortillas were more standard than flour here but both are tasty. Overall given convenience, great service and mostly due to tasty food we will definitely be back one way or another.
