BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM ICAR THUNDERBAY!!!!…read moreThis summer I purchased a 2019 Elantra with 40 000 kms on it from ICAR. The car appeared to be in good condition and with low milage. When I brought my car to the carwash however, I barely started to spray the hood and a bunch of paint just wiped off my car. I contacted the sales rep that sold me the car and he said that it was my fault for bringing the car to the car wash. I then went to an auto repair shop and they confirmed that there was definitely something wrong with the paint and that bringing it to the car wash should not have taken off the paint as described. I then emailed the sales rep that sold me the car. He again told me it was my fault for washing my car at the carwash, even though I barely sprayed it, but said that if I got a second quote to fix the paint, they would see what they could do to help me get it fixed. He also claimed that they care about my experience with them and want to help me fix this issue ( LMDAO) . I then sought out a second opinion and quote at a different auto repair shop. I was told by the second car repair shop that not only was it not my fault that the paint came off, and that unless I was holding the pressure washer directly against the paint ( which obviously I did not do), then there was no reason for the paint to come off and clearly there was a defect in the paint. Every single car owner brings their car to the carwash and the paint doesn't come off like that. This car repair expert told me to just keep contacting the people who sold me the car, because it clearly was a defect with the paint. I have since sent in this quote to icar and they have decided to just ignore my emails and refuse to acknowledge this issue further. My partner has been looking to buy his own vehicle and was interested in a car at icar but has since changed his mind, seeing how they have been treating me. Again, do not buy a car from ICAR THUNDERBAY, I regret trusting them, now I am going to be out an additional 1500$ to repair the paint, when I am already overpaying for the car I got. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR IT THEY WILL NOT ASSIST YOU IF YOU FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR YOU BUY FROM THEM

SHEPARSKI AUTOBODY 250 Gore St W…read moreThunder Bay I do not recommend using this auto body shop! We have a 2016 Cadillac that I took in for rock chip repairs and the whole front end of the car is a mess after Chris painted it! The first time he painted it was bad enough and he offered to do a second time which was even worse! Against my better judgment I let him try and repair it! The paint colors do not match from fenders to door, the hood has been buffed with a dirty buffer and is now scratched up. I must add is that the second time he said he would repair it all he did was buff and it made more of a mess! There is shadowing in the paint, there is overspray everywhere and on the drivers door where he sanded he took the paint off and left it that way! There is what you call "orange peel"as other painters call it all over the front end! There's contaminants in the paint! Also indent lines were something has settled and is very visible! I have asked his to return the money and he has refused! And he said take me to small claims court! Very cocky! He also has a older gentleman wandering around his shop that basically said to me if you wanted perfection you should've done it yourself! I said I am not a painter and that is why I brought it to a professional and left the business! I would love to add photos but it doesn't show all the imperfections unfortunately. So now I am going to an appraiser who will mark down every imperfection so that when I take them to small claims court it will be duly noted since he doesn't want to return money!! I have estimates from several other body shops that can plainly see the mess he has made! And noted so in their estimates! If you want a good paint job I do not recommend this guy I cannot stress it enough!

I went to this business to have my vehicle safetied and could not believe the headache that…read moreresulted. To make a long story short they provided me with a list of repairs that they insisted were required in order for my vehicle to be safetied. This list include a blower fan, serpentine belt and front lower control arm...among other repairs. I mention those 3 repairs specifically because the blower fan has been replaced 11 months ago and worked as it should, it had a whine to it but was functional (should not and would not impact a safety). Additionally the serpentine belt was in good condition, no cracks, slack or visible damage, no whine or excessive noise occurring from the belt or pulleys. furthermore I had the vehicle in to have the lower control arm and ball joint replaced on the drivers side 4 days prior, a full inspection of the suspension system was conducted and a front and rear alignment. There was no issue noted on that day, nor did an additional shop note the issue that Stop N Steer claimed existed. Oh, and when I went to pick my vehicle up the drivers door was damaged. The hinge pin had been heavily bent and the door would not even close. I had to bring the vehicle to a body shop afterwards to get them to resolve the issue. Overall it was a pretty brutal experience.
