Obviously some of the reviewers here HAVE NOT lived in this community longer than Lois has been the manager. Therefore, they write from lack of knowledge! I have been in this park for more than 11 years. I've SEEN the changes. I've seen the houses go up for sale, multiples on the same streets around the same times. I've seen the houses being raided. I've watched the K9s sniff for drugs. I've seen the bullets hit homes and police pick up shell casings. I've called and reported crimes to the office myself in which they had no clue about. It is also FALSE to say guest parking is on every street. Apparently, some residents have not driven around their own community! As stated before, rent is about to increase again. Still, not ONE suggested upgrade or change for the better has occurred since my last post. In fact, residents are now driving over an area of dirt road that was drilled and worked on several weeks ago. How long does it take the city to re-tar A street? And who gives a crap about swapmeets, bake sales, and homeowners meetings? Residents aren't even able to reserve the community room for events such as birthday parties, etc. That is a perfect example of not trusting your residents and not allowing families to make use of what space rental SHOULD be paying for. With that said, attending homeowners meetings hasn't prevented the annual increase of space rental, hasn't updated pool tables, hasn't fixed the jacuzzi, hasn't updated the exercise equipment, etc. So newbies, please do your homework and know facts before you post. Ask people who lived here before Lois' management that can vouch for the lack of progress and inconsistencies. Better yet, ask the residents who live on the same street as Lois, what their opinion is of her. Lol!! If it wasn't for the upside down real estate market, I would've been gone years ago. Unfortunately, I have to bear with the nonsense a little longer. I would no longer recommended this neighborhood to anyone! read more

We've been staying here for almost a year now. When we moved in, the people from the admin office said that they're working on ways to get internet providers aside from Att. So far, no luck. That's the major disappointment that we have. Another thing is ant problem. No matter how much we clean our house and the outside, ants and spiders always find a way to get in. My son is the one who always get bitten. We tried spraying and ant bombs under the house, but still. Next: some drivers drive really fast or make a turn really fast. I think the management should put up more street signs and be strict about it. The safety of the residents should be the priority. read more

I lived in this park and the one down the hill until 2004. Bought a house and moved. Now I'm thinking about retiring and considering moving there again. From all the neighbors that I still communicate with, tell me the park is still a good place to live. I can't believe some of the comments. I will still consider retiring there again. Rules are made to be followed and the black thing I read about does not scare me away. If it happens to me, I will raise hell and high water with management. That day has passed. read more

I called because I was looking for information on moving here. Dianne answered the phone and was incredibly unhelpful. She begrudgingly provided information but it was like pulling teeth. I literally had to ask her specific questions and she kept trying to refer me to a website (mhvillage.com). Finally she gave me ONE piece of information that was helpful. So it's been over a year, and STILL NO INTERNET company will service this area. In addition, the water has been shut off twice in the past year due to bursting pipes. This is very inconvenient when this occurs because management does not call the residents to notify them. When the water is turned back on, the water is yellow and murky. It takes about a day or two for it to go back to normal. There are also SEVERAL potholes throughout the park that have not been filled in. I don't understand why the rent goes up every year if the roads are not going to be maintained, and there are no updates to the amenities at the clubhouse. Finally, there have been a series of break-ins throughout the park (cars and residences). The sheriff's department says that the guests/visitors of particular residents are responsible for the theft. read more

security guard response .... well what can i say i was one of the best guards they have at DHE.. besides dan . hes awesome. love and miss him. im speaking out on how i was treated by the other guard 'Carla' . for 2 years she tried to get me fired. i watched her brain wash Lois. i was always on point with work. i tried my best. sometimes iv messed up but learned and fixed the situation. just like any other human in this world we all make mistakes. the owner of DHE loved seeing my face at the gate.. i always had a smile on my face and always looked presentable.. but what they did to me and other guards was disrespectful and mean.. heartless act really. but what can you say if your not one of lois's minons means your out of a job.. im sorry i did my job and i wasnt gonna be on there power trip that they were all on . i treated everyone with respect . i only got loud when i had some man in my face threatening my life. but i was asked to be assigned to another site with no reason why.. knowing this one was the day before 4th of july i got the call. the owner of the guard company couldnt even state the truth why he was letting me go from DHE. He cant even call the shots bc of the guard carla . she was so up Lois ass . It was sad watching his company being taken over by this guard . smh . But i did nothing wrong. they put a camera in the booth to watch us 24-7. (carla ideas) i couldnt even eat in peace during my breaks. carla also wouldnt give me my breaks anytime on sundays. this woman should be fired. she should of been fired a long time ago actually . i still get residents who see me in downtown lbc ask me why i left.. i state the truth and keep it pushing . i hope you think twice before working or before buying a home here . i deserve to be respected . i did nothing wrong . i would train all new guards at the gate never complained or anything. i lost time with my son bc ppl wanted to call out just to hang out on the hill bc just bc they felt like it.. kinda messed up if you think about it... i miss and love the residents .. they deserve nothing but the best .. by the way the lady who worked thursdays for gloria . her name is Janice... she was the sweetest one out of all of them... she deserved Gloria spot... not her daughter.. so sad how they jipped her out of a full time job .. i hope you guys change that soon... xoxo dez read more

I just moved in last week, so far I like what I see. Lois the Manager is a very friendly person and she takes her Job Seriously. As far as internet service goes, I had service in two days Thru Viasat, they're not cheap (109.00) monthly. Looking forward to a long stay. read more

I have dealt with them for more than 10 years. there are always good and bad issues, however, SINCE LOIS-the manager has been here, as a community we have been able to get a grasp on crime, develop a closer relationship with the local Carson sheriffs department, has garnered the attention of two surrounding mayors/cities as a possible annexation, brought in a much better security, helped catch and evict criminals. And quite frankly, the new resident "move in" climate is more laid back and MATURE--unlike unsatisfied posters who do not go to the monthly community meeting or participate in the many activities in the park for kids and families. This park had a recent pot luck/BBQ for the many residents-- participated by few, advertised to hundreds. Who passes up free food? The kids have various arts and crafts activities, bike parades, or talent shows that they look forward to every other month. There are biannual swap meets in which residents (and outside folks) can sell and barter their items. For the park, there are so many activities for the residents--and they have even cancelled Casino trips due to not enough participation. Like any place you live, there is going to be crime. But as a community, you can band together, report EVERY LITTLE incident(s) to the police and watch/know your neighbors house--and vice versa. Most of the people who complain do JUST that. Run their mouth and you will never see them involved in any activity up on the hill. The state of California has rules for mobile home parks (READ THEM), which are provided to and discussed with the residents BEFORE they move into the park. So don't be mad if the kids do not have playground or you can walk a dog you'd probably would not pick their s**t up afterwards anyway. It's called insurance and California is the sue capital of the country. Just imagine what space rent would be when Little Johnny wasn't being watched by his negligent parent and he falls in one of the lots and busts his head. You can park in front of your house for reasonable amount of time--but you have car ports or driveways. Imagine you and the neighbor across the street with BOTH of your cars blocking the road. They are firelanes. State laws. Period. Read your resident rules--the pool is for registered residents--not your cousin, nephew, sister and in-ls from out of town--when you are not there. Or a bar mitzpha pool party theme. There was one resident that wanted to take bikini model pictures at the pool. No sir. Do that at your PRIVATE residence. So yes. We have kids. Monitor the pool activities. And lastly, check your Megan's Law list. Those folks have been gone or are dead. We resident BLOCKED one form moving on our street--so disgruntled resident do your homework. This is not the Ritz Carlton, but be assured, you could not do what you want to to there either. Five stars--for the major improvements since I have lived here. And for residents fighting for change--with the office manager's support--and getting a new security company who will not let every one and their friends up here without the proper procedure. Guards waving their hands letting any one in proved seriously critical in the past. We raised hell--with the help of the Office Manager--and they changed it. Very quiet, reasonably safe--but you must be cautious like anywhere. Some of the issues are from people who live here and their kids who are now non working, problematic adults. Same in Rancho Palos Verdes as in Compton. The world has changed and so has living here or any where else. But one thing we have been working hard is to keep it community. Attend YOUR meetings if you have a problem--or better yet--need to get educated on what is really happening and stop spreading mindless gossip. But what you do not like, attend your Home Owners meeting, voice your concern(s) and discuss HOW WE can HELP solve the issues. Going to YELP with personal grips--is just not going to help if you do not become part of the solution. I was upset about things and started going to the meetings. Lois attends them as a resident also and provides good advice and information for those who will listen/ask questions. She is more hands on than any previous manager who has lived here. Her office will drive around the park--just like security and a band of concerned residents also. Blaming her for the crime increase is about the dumbest mess I've ever heard. Bet you don't even have Carson Sheriffs non emergency number in your speed dial. But lets not go there. Put your money where your mouth is. Did you know we had a Neighborhood Watch? Any one complaining--you need to come to the meetings every 2nd TUESDAY of the month. It's not a secret. read more

True rent goes up every year and there is not the best internet connections. We are told that they are working on it for a couple of years.But it is still cheaper than the homes in Carson that Boarder Compton I feel completely safe as a single female living alone. There are 500 homes prox 2300 people here, living pretty close together and Respect for your neighbor has never been more important. The management follows up on all complaints. Thats a lot of people that seemingly get along pretty well. You will never please all the people all the time, but they are trying. Management does read you every word of the rules and agreements before you sign off. The internet situation is very frustrating, especially if you plan to work from home, but you can get satellite wi fi. It cost a little more than the package deals, but does work. And The view from the common area is spectacular and there is no traffic noise and all the wires are under grounds leaving room for incredible sunrises and sunset. Some even have a view of the Long Beach harbor. I love my neighbors. They are friendly and helpful and I try to keep that spirit too. I'm sorry that some people suffered with the management before Lois took over, but no need to drag down your own property value with reviews of what used to happen. read more

The security does not give u privacy here there all ran by female that clearly have not had the proper training ... no privacy at home or no privacy at the pool no privacy when u go for small walks... at this park be ready to be interrogated by being asked what unit you live in every time you step out your door there is a huge Privacy Act where attorneys love to get involved in situations like this even if I gave the wrong space number these female security guards still don't know if the person clearly lives there....
