We were very happy with the service that the family run business provided. They did an amazing job and were professional, friendly, courteous, and an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. We had searched around for a fair and reasonable price, and their pricing was excellent. We didn't have to negotiate at all. They provided us with a very fair price right from the beginning. The workmanship was fantastic, and their attention to detail was impressive. They cleaned up the entire area so thoroughly that the property looked even better than it did before they arrived! We are very, very happy with the work they did and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and reasonably priced tree company. They also built up the space with rustic wall block and created a corner seating area around the fire feature that feels intentional and cozy. The 6-ft privacy fence and string lighting were the perfect finishing touches. The space now feels like a true extension of our home. Professional, hardworking, and detail-oriented. Highly recommend if you want something done right. Bonus points: he was patient with our "site supervisor" (our dog Ollie), who insisted on overseeing the entire project.

In my line of work (landscaping), I often need the services of qualified arborists for various…read moreclient gardens. Finding reliable, qualified arborists is more difficult than you might imagine. It was therefore a huge relief to me when a trusted colleague in the landscaping business, Joe Badali, of Islington Nurseries, recommended Ontree, telling me that he now exclusively uses them for all his tree jobs, and has been extremely happy with them for several years. With that recommendation in mind, I contacted Ontree and asked for an assessment on three jobs I had outstanding. I met with their certified arborist, Jody, at the sites in question and was impressed with his intimate knowledge of trees and his assessment of how we should proceed with the jobs in question. What I particularly liked was his honesty in assessing the jobs. He did not try to suggest more work was needed, he suggested things we could minimize, or put off. He pointed out what work was critical. He was honest about the risks and pinpointed several tree health issues. One of the job sites had an access issue, where trying to get certain branches would be difficult, and Jody was pleased to point out that they have specialized equipment which is able to get through very constricted spaces and elevates the arborists safely to the target branches. ("Spider lift" machines. Spider lifts are aerial man-lifting devices that can reach various heights). Safety for anyone working around on my property or any of my client properties is very important to me, so it was a relief to hear about their equipment. (In the past, unfortunately, I have had bad experiences with tree companies that do not strictly stick to safety both for their workers and the homeowner.) After I met with Jody, it was a very short time until I received the pricing for the jobs. I made sure to be present at the job sites when the work was being carried out and was very impressed with the crew and delighted with the work they carried out. They were very courteous, answering any questions I had. They carried out the work in a totally professional and safety conscious manner. They cleaned up the work site. All members of the crew showed an excellent knowledge of, and a great love for trees. I have no hesitation in hiring Ontree for any tree work I need done.

The deep root fertilization was provided within days by a very courteous Davey Tree employee. The next business day a Davey Tree team arrived with a boom truck and mulcher punctually as promised. Our next door neighbour hired Davey Tree to trim their 2 trees. They requested access to our…read morebackyard to make it easier which was granted by my partner. He checked their progress a few times (luckily was working from home) and branches were being taken down and the tree thinned. We had vines growing up and covering our fence (our neighbours back yard is an eyesore). Some of these vines (which we planted a decade ago) had grown onto the tree trunk and up the tree. Permission was given to TRIM them. When I got home from work I noticed ALL the vines had been removed and destroyed. Vines were left hanging ripped off other parts of the fence and 10 year old trunk destroyed. In addition the careless workers trampled plants in the garden that my mother, who died last month had planted. I had a gardener lined up to come and work on the garden in preparation for a celebration of life in our back, but now will have to pay to have everything removed and new plants put in. I spoke with the operator who said he would come out and look at the property the next time he was in the area, but there is no point when everything has been destroyed. An email to the operator and head office has not been answered in 4 days, so I assume like so many others, they just don't care. Careless work with no regard for other peoples property. Beyond upset that they had zero concern or respect for our personal property. Thanks for ruining our backyard and costing us hundreds of dollars to fix. The thing that makes me chuckle is our neighbours likely won't pay, google cheap and you'll see them.

Unbelievable service with exceptional results!…read more We needed our chimney rebuilt, parging done around the house, bricks that required repairs and a complete renovation to our porch and walkway. Once we saw the craftsmanship and meticulousness of how Dan worked to match up the brickwork for the Chimney and how professionally he and his crews preformed in all areas including clean-up at the end of the day-we were sold! Every nook and cranny requiring repair around the foundation was done expertly. The chimney looks amazing and you would never know the bricks weren't the same (they were older bricks that were discontinued). The care and precision taken in every step of the process was done to perfection. The porch stone work is spectacular and how they worked to ensure the angles for water flow (away from the house)...everything was taken into consideration. At the onset, quotes were reasonable prior to Covid-19 and he stuck to what was promised with no hidden surprises - and let us know when one project turned out to be less than quoted. Dan was always assessable for a call and came when promised - all work was completed on time and the whole process was smooth from the very start to the end.
