I don't like that they charge more for cleaning services than Delta Dental allows but all else. Is top notch. I've been to other Portage dentist that not only try and talk you into unnecessary treatments to pad their income and Doc Kip and all the staff have a positive, welcoming, and listening level of engagement. In Portage I dealt with arrogant self important Dentist that thought all others were beneath him and not entitled to ask questions. Kip invites the conversation and you will also learn a little about his family too. Highly recommend.

That is something I truly respect and appreciate. I even forgot something in the room and she ran out to my car to give it to me. The doctor I had was Michael Tamm and he did a good job explaining why my mouth was the way it was, how to fix what I wanted, and also alternative methods to what my Google searches had concluded before coming. I felt like I was at the spa getting my teeth cleaned and am grateful for the opportunity. Nicole even was able to answer some questions about teeth whitening options and teeth correcting trays which I plan on doing as a treat to myself for my 30th birthday. I have a busy schedule, like most people, and the front desk was great about figuring out when works best for me so I could quickly do what I want! I am military so I have a form that has to be printed out, signed and returned to my unit promptly; they not only printed it out for me but ensured that it was filled out correctly by the time I left. It's a few days later and my teeth still feel amazing! The only thing I would change is maybe having sunglasses for the patients to wear while getting the oral care attended to, it would be nice with the bright lights and also not make it so awkward for the patient. I noticed the other reviews mentioned the staff being busy/rushed. As someone who works in healthcare, THEY ARE BUSY! People have constantly had oral/dental emergencies. It took me about 2.5 months to get this appointment, so of course they are busy/rushed seemingly. Healthcare workers have laborious jobs that involve human interactions for 99% of the day and it is often frustrating dealing with certain things. This establishment did great, they take Tricare insurance so I am going to be loyal to them!

During this time I was not only humiliated, but disrespected as I went to block you with my arm when you maneuvered to inject me with a needle without my knowledge of knowing why you were doing that so fast before the numbing agent was affective, in which you responded by aggressively yelling out for me to "PUT YOUR HAND DOWN" which was loudly shouted out at me in a time where I was vulnerable and already experiencing a great deal of anxiety surrounding the procedure. Even if you were frustrated you could've taken that moment to think that maybe I was nervous or scared. You could have said "ma'am please put your hand down" and then explained what you were doing. Dr. Mckinley is always rushing and treating me as a time slot and not a patient!

The front desk staff asked me to spell very simple words (like "circle"), and there seemed to be a lot of confusion over basic information. It made the whole interaction feel awkward and unprofessional, and it actually heightened my anxiety to the point where I started stuttering while trying to answer questions. When I was finally seen, the experience didn't improve much. The nurse practitioner seemed genuinely confused about my medication allergies. Even after I clearly explained my reactions and history, she still appeared unsure and kind of just blanked out instead of addressing it confidently. That was honestly the most concerning part, because I didn't feel safe or reassured discussing my health. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and lacking in clear communication.
