I have continued to try to get any response from Dombrowski. Answering machines and no response. She stole $600 to do some trust taxes and she took the money and then disappeared. Thank God for Catharine Dombrowski and her tax skills! Honestly, I'd be lost without her. She is so detailed when preparing my taxes, she goes the extra mile to get me the most for my tax return. I often text her on random days/times and she always gets back to me within about an hour, or if it's really late she'll get back to me the next morning. NEVER EVER USE THIS PERSON. SHE IS AWFUL!!!!! UNPROFESSIONAL. DISRESPECTFUL. Five months later, I am still asking for my documents back. Yesterday, October 13 she emailed and texted me that she amended my 2014 tax returns and no refund is due to me, and she would text me after Oct. 17 about returning my 2014 and 2015 tax documents to me. I responded that I need them BEFORE the Oct 15 deadline and she is (again) no longer responding. I have been asking for my documents so I can go to another agency since June 25th and she is holding my documents hostage, until after the 15th of October and I cannot take them to anyone else. For five months, this woman has disregarded all of my requests, even ignoring a certified demand letter from a lawyer. And she is STILL ignoring me and my request. She is never in her office when I drive by during her posted hours. I've never been treated so unprofessionally and disrespectfully. And I am not the only client she has treated so shabbily. Anyone considering this CPA needs to beware. She will treat you very poorly. ***UPDATE*** After the most recent posting of my experience, the CPA texted and met with me at her office this afternoon at 5:15 and tried to rush me through the hand off of my 2014 and 2015 tax returns. She talked over me, interrupted me, and tried to change the topic when I asked direct questions. She gave excuses for inexcusable unprofessional behavior and was again dismissive by not answering my direct questions. First, she hung onto my documents since APRIL 2017 with the promise of amending them, but still held onto them since June 25 when I continually asked for them back. Second, I had missing documents that she claims I never gave her when I have proof that I did. Third, she wanted me to sign a document that I received my 2014 and 2015 tax returns and in it were comments about me. I did not sign the document because I did not receive back all the documentation I gave her and her "professional opinion" about me has no relevance in a document pertaining to acknowledging receipt. She talked fast, interrupted, told lies, deflected direct questions and tried to demean and blame me as retaliation for posting about her unprofessional behavior. This has been a horrible, horrible experience. The worst I have had with someone who claims to be a professional. read more

Catharine was great! Very friendly and accommodating towards my fiancé and I. She was the sweetest to my son and provided lots of activities for him to stay occupied while we worked with her. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Definitely found a CPA we can work with for a very long time :) And I got my taxes in less than 2 weeks! I've known Ms. Dombrowski since about 2001 and am impressed by the vast amount of knowledge she brings to her work as a CPA, Financial Consultant, and Enrolled Agent. There is virtually nothing about taxes or finance she does not know, and she is my first go-to person when I have a challenge, problem, or question regarding finances. I've never found her less than professional, helpful, and eager to tackle the toughest financial issue for me and for the other clients of hers whom I know, and I've never seen her stumped by even the most arcane or obscure tax or financial planning rule or regulation. Reading her reviews, I see one person who seems to have a complaint (which she repeated ad nauseum) because that particular reviewer seems to have been disappointed with the size (or lack) of her refund, but of course the job of a tax professional is to ensure you're paying only the taxes you're required to pay, not a cent more, and to see that you get the full refund to which you're entitled, if any, and not some sort of a bogus windfall. As for me, I wholeheartedly endorse Catharine and her services. I'm confident if you use her, you'll never use any other financial advisor or tax preparer. read more
