We took the sunset dolphin and snorkel cruise with Tim and it was absolutely unbelievable! He was a great captain and took us to so many great spots. We saw atleast 30 dolphins, snorkeled and saw rays, and a gorgeous sunset. Will be doing this again when we come back!

Outstanding trip with the Dolphin Safari crew. We started at the beautiful Perry Hotel in Stock Island. Prior to departure we awaited the boat to arrive while having a lovely adult beverage at The Salty Oyster bar. Once we boarded the boat it was a smooth day to venture through key west. After viewing about 6-8 Dolphins we drove to a wonderful snorkel area to see the shipwreck below with tons of coral and fish. Our next stop was the Sandbar where we sat around and mingled with our family from Brazil to complete the day. Since we are locals and our day off, we really enjoyed the ease of this trip and couldn't of asked for anything more. Great trip and we thank the crew for a lovely experience. Must attend while in Key West !!! Book through or call the key west visitor center www.keywest123.com or text 305-296-8881.

Best experience ever!! Our family had so much fun! Clean boat. Knowledgeable captain. Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful snorkeling trip with Capt Gary. He is a great tour guide and we really enjoyed his knowledge and fun conversation. Looked for some dolphins but they didn't want to show themselves during our trip. We did however have great time snorkeling though. Water was between 15 feet down to as little as 1 foot with good visibility. We saw a 4 foot nurse shark resting on the bottom in about 6 feet of water. No worries though since nurse sharks won't bother you unless you get too close and then they may defend themselves. Also saw many beautiful fish, an 18 inch wide stingray that was swimming around in the area. They provide all the equipment needed to snorkel and they only take 6 people per trip so it's a good size. They also provide drinks and snacks.

We went out today 3/26/21 on dolphin safari. And it was the best thing we have done this week, (it is our honeymoon.) My husband wanted to snorkel so he got to do that, and he was so happy! What a great place she picked! And I loved the dolphins, we got to watch them eat and (mate) laugh out loud!! It was definitely worth it. And I would recommend it to everyone that goes to the keys. Gary was nice and very welcoming. And our tour guide lady was the sweetest ever, and so funny! I will definitely be back to the keys even if it's just to go on the dolphin safari charters!

Captain Tim was a great captain and guide. He was so informative, laid back and took the time to make sure we were all good. He helped a few first time snorkelers ease their anxiety and gave them helpful steps on how to learn to snorkel. Thank you so much Tim for a great night out on the water. We will be back!

My husband and I booked this last minute and it was the best decision we made! We went out with Captain Cathy who was so kind and knowledgeable. We were lucky and got to see 2 dolphins on our trip. The snorkeling was also incredible!! I highly recommend.

I do not recommend this company. It was just a long boat ride. Not much to learn. Look for another company for sure.

The served drinks promptly and expeditiously upon boarding the sailboat. The band was lively and sounded great. We didn't have to walked down to the bar and could just enjoy the weather, the sailing and the view! Kudos to Captain Willie and his entire crew for being such a delightful group. Ticket guy Mark assured us pool noodles would help and water is calm and expert swimming is not required. Boat ride with Todd and Anne started fine, but snorkel time? Disaster. Anne acted like she was dragged off the street, no manners, just snide remarks, eye-rolls, and forehead smacks at a fellow tourist fumbling with their wetsuit. No help getting in the wavy water; instead, she snaps at my struggling wife: "Why do people who can't snorkel even try?" (I'd love to see her skydive after 10 mins of instructions!) Todd was meh, nice enough but obsessed with tips, yapping about it nonstop. Snorkeling itself was great, but these two don't belong in service. Avoid!

I am a huge US National Parks fan and am trying to visit all of the US National Parks and Monuments…read moreduring my lifetime. Every time we visit Florida, I like to add another Park or Monument to my list. This time was Dry Tortugas National Park, a very unique park in that you have to book a ferry trip or board a sea plane in order to visit the park. We selected the less expensive option, the ferry, which is operated by Yankee Freedom. They offer a one day trip to Dry Tortugas for $250.00, which includes a breakfast, lunch, a guided tour of the fort, and the ferry ride to and from the island, which is 75 miles from Key West, in the Gulf of Mexico. The trip runs from 7 am - 5:30 pm. They also offer 10 spots per day for people who want to camp at Dry Tortugas. We were told that those camping spots fill up very fast. The parking for the day is in a nearby parking garage. It's pricey, so if you can get a ride there and back, that would be a less expensive option. The waiting area for the ferry is at the Yankee Freedom office. You have to show your ID in order to check in. They gave us each a number, which correlates to your number in the boarding process. The earlier you get there, the better. We were there a little after 7 am, and the waiting area was already packed. Channing, the guide, went over the boarding process and the day's itinerary. There were waivers to fill out for those borrowing snorkeling equipment. We boarded the boat and were able to find a couple of seats inside the boat. Immediately upon boarding, they had bagels and cream cheese available. Shortly after the ferry left, they opened the coffee/tea line, where you could also get a yogurt, fruit cocktail package, cereal, or oatmeal. We decided to opt into the guided tour of the fort. Channing was the tour guide. She was very excited to share the history of the fort with us and was extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend the one hour tour of the fort. We learned so much from Channing! After the tour, we went back to the boat to eat lunch. They had Jersey Mike's sandwiches, chips, cookies, carrot and celery sticks, and beverages available. We ate on the boat and then spent the rest of the allotted time exploring the fort on our own. On the way back to Key West, they had a raffle, where you could buy raffle tickets to win merchandise, as well as a comment card raffle, where you could win another trip to Dry Tortugas by filling out the comment card. I won the comment card raffle! We have a year to use the coupon, and we will definitely be back! I'd like to do some snorkeling next time. We were so lucky to have calm seas during our trip. Be sure to bring Dramamine! We took some, just in case.

This is a family-run business and you can feel that local, small-town pride from the moment you step on the boat. What impressed me most wasn't just the wildlife--though seeing bottle-nosed dolphins and sharks in their natural habitat was incredible--it was the professional camaraderie. Even though there are other tour companies out there, the captains are in constant communication, sharing sightings and even helping each other out with gear or debris in the water. It's rare to see that kind of collective stewardship in a competitive industry. The tour is also deeply educational. The guide did a fantastic job dispelling myths about sharks and explaining the biology of the animals (like the dermal denticles on their skin) with a level of respect that shows they aren't just using nature for a paycheck--they are actively protecting it. If you want an authentic, respectful, and insightful look at the Florida Keys' ecosystem, this tour is a must. I captured a large portion of our tour--including the sharks and dolphins--starting at the 2:26 mark in my vlog here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og6BrVsB2QM

We did it toward the end of our stay, and the whole family agreed it was the highlight. Key West Extreme Adventures takes you out into the open ocean for an unforgettable 2-hour tour focused on shark and wildlife viewing. They use a special scent to attract sharks right up to the boat -- and it actually works! Our twins (they're 4) were totally mesmerized watching the yellow sharks feed just feet away. It was exciting, interactive, and surprisingly peaceful out on the water. The owner and staff were amazing with the kids -- super friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. Our daughter was a little disappointed not to see dolphins (you can't predict nature!), but she still absolutely loved the whole experience. Our son hasn't stopped talking about the sharks. We also spotted stingrays, turtles, and a bunch of sea birds. It felt like a totally unique way to experience the ocean -- nothing touristy or cookie-cutter about it. Just a really special, one-of-a-kind outing. If you're in Key West, especially with kids, do not miss this tour. It's something we'll all remember for a long time.
