The first time I came to Dolphin Dental was a year ago. At that time I was taking a year off to find a new dentist for me and my family. I had a great dentist when I first moved to Hollywood 14 years ago. But unfortunately he sold his practice and the new group was awful. Than a friend referred me to his dentist and that didn't work out either. So with a Groupon I found Dolphin Dental a year ago. I was very impressed with the location on the corner shopping plaza of Hallandale Beach Boulevatd and Federal Highway. The offices are new and the equipment is all state of the art. That is a first for me. I was taken at my appointment time. That alone is a very big deal as my time is limited so I can't afford to sit there all day. So my exam I had a panoramic xray as well as my full mouth. The dentist himself did the cleaning and that impressed me as he was very good. He told me what I already knew that I have good teetth. Next test I send the rest of my family. My son and husband both on seperate appointments go and come to the same conclusion that they are good. Now for my husband who at the time had different insurance and is very skeptical loved it than I knew we found a new dentist. Now since this is my review I reserve the last star plus or minus for my next visit in 6 months. Let"s see if they continue to be great and on time, and I have a cavity to be filled. So I will let you know. So far my visit today was covered by insurance and I particularly liked was that no more tortuous forms had to be filled out that alone gave them a star. read more

I've been to a few dentists in my life, and I would recommend anyone in need of dental service to go there! Recently bought a Groupon for dental checks and cleaning. I was welcomed by an amazing staff and got an exceptional treatment, starting with the newest machines, follow by the check with Dr. Franco who was so pleasant, gentle & patient! He really took the time to explain and go through all my questions (and there were quite a few). Yamely the dental hygienist is a true perfectionist (on top of her being so sweet). She made sure I leave the office fully satisfied, armed with a perfect clean smile. Definitely coming back again! Great professional service! read more

Before writing my review I took a look at the other reviews posted on here and other sites and was shocked. I have never been to a nicer office. The staff is so attentive to your needs and treats you like you are an old friend. It is a very warm and inviting place. I hve been going here for over 2 yrs now and have nothing but pleasant experiences every time. My mom who is 91 with Alzheimers, lost her crown and chipped a tooth. She is not easy to handle. Her former dentist wanted $950 to do a( temporary job). Dolphin Dental charged us only $315 and she was seen twice. 3 assistants had to help calm mom down but the job was done and she is doing great. I just had a dental scaling which I must have every 3 months. The technician was so pleasant. She was not condescending as the other reviews stated. A lot of people let their teeth go and the Dentist doesn't make you feel to good about it. Well they were so positive and told me everything would be ok if I follow a certain protocol. At my other dentist they charge over $300 for the same procedure. It seems to me that these other consumers are just giving the office a bad rap. This dentist is TERRIBLE! Dolphin Dental are scam artists. DO NOT buy their rip off groupon or any other deal they have. Exactly what happened to Nanci and Gemma happened to me. I wish I'd checked the reviews first! I was told that after X-rays it would not be ethical for them to do a regular cleaning and that I needed to pay for a deep clean. What a load of tripe, they just want to get more money out of you. Neither my husband or I will ever be returning. read more

I went here today after buying an online coupon/deal for the business that was for a general cleaning w/ x-rays. I thought that everything would go smoothly and I would be done quickly as I have never had a cavity in my life and have had perfect dental checkups since I had my first tooth. As I moved from another state a few years ago, I have not had a chance to go back to my regular dentist in about a year, and I was desperate for a general cleaning for my own peace of mind. This was an impossible request, it seems, as after half a dozen very uncomfortable x-rays in addition to a panoramic x-ray that I did not ask for (and am sincerely hoping that I will not be charged for) in addition to a very uncomfortable procedure in which the hygienist measured my gum-tooth gaps... apparently these were extremely alarming because suddenly I needed the "deep clean" for a small extra fee of $169. When I told them I could not afford this as I have no insurance and just did not want to be swindled, she said that I could set up my regular cleaning that I had already paid for w/ my coupon AFTER the deep cleaning that I HAD to set up first. After much back and forth of me asking for just a basic cleaning so I could leave, the staff would NOT let me have a general cleaning until I set up/paid for a deep clean. I was appalled and am now livid thinking about how they tried to take my money for something I do not need. In order to leave the appointment, I had to fake an interest of coming back by making an appointment that I do not intend to keep for a deep cleaning. In short, I left without ANY cleaning and it wasted my entire morning that I could have spent making money at work. I do NOT recommend this place - they blind and confuse you with all of their fancy gadgets, none of which are absolutely necessary for a GOOD dentist, and then try to use scare tactics to make you empty your pockets and be grateful that they may have saved your mouth - believe me, any good dentist will not do this to you! One star is one too many. This is the classic bait and switch. and I will report this to the authorities. I had a groupon for X-rays, a cleaning and a dental exam. First come the X-rays, the instead of doing the cleaning as usual...the dentist or should I say closer comes in . He tells me I have a "deep" pocket and he for $183 he'll do it. I said I walked in for the "regular" cleaning and think about it. No he refused to honor the groupon and would only clean my teeth if I paid $183. I took off my bib and left. Half an hour later I called and said I wanted my X-rays returned to me. Sure the chirpy dental tech said. What is your email. I gave to her. Needless to say. I never received the X-rays read more

It was my first visit to this dental office. They're all very professional. The dentist Dr. Franco and hygienist explained all the procedures thoroughly. They made me feel welcomed. They didn't push for me to get anything additional done. There were no extra fees but the ones I agreed on. I'm very happy with my visit and will be coming back. read more

NO STARS!!! Exactly what happened to Gemma happened to my 22 yr old daughter when she went to Dolphin Dental last week with a Living Social deal. All we wanted was a teeth cleaning but after X-rays and a lot of ridiculous measuring, prodding and poking of her teeth and gums , they said they couldn't clean her teeth until she had $3800 worth of procedures done including having 8 cavities filled, a crown, wisdom teeth extracted, deep scaling, etc. Even if she had these problems (which she doesn't) they STILL could have cleaned her teeth first but they INSISTED she needed to have this dental work done prior!! She just was at another dentist 6 months prior for a check up, X-rays & teeth cleaning and no issues whatsoever and then even had a zoom teeth whitening after! This dentist is a QUACK!! Then when I requested her X-rays so that I might get a "2nd opinion" they INSISTED that I would have to pay $30 for them!! DO NOT EVER TRUST THIS OFFICE as they are SCAMMERS and the WORST kind of dental office to ever have to walk into!!! And don't fall for their $37 deal on Living Social or any other deal website because they'll try to rip you off and refuse to do what you intended to have done. Also, fyi, I notified Living Social as to what happened and they immediately gave me a credit on my account with no problem at all! PS.
