Such a great experience for my 12 year old daughter, We went there while we were staying at Hawks cay Resort, and this was a very well organized experience. It's a expensive 45 minutes , but we'll worth by the smile on my girl. Trainer was great explaining the steps ,and talking about the dolphins. For what I saw the only not so good thing is when they divide the party's the should make sure everyone has the 45 min full experience and not divide the 45 min in between them

My wife and grandson did the package where you wade on a platform and interact with the dolphins. They absolutely had a blast. Price is a bit steep but it's a very memorable experience. I have no regrets. Place was hard to find because Google maps took me to the wrong location. It's close by, but not the place that was shown. They also have no signs up at the new location. After stressing out because we were going g to be late, it ended up being wonderful.

    Having the dolphin do tricks

My daughter decided to try the Dolphin encounter program. After a brief educational class about dolphins she was able to get right in the water! The trainer who worked with my daughter was Felicia. My daughter had a one on one session with the trainer since she was the only one signed up for the 10:30 time slot. The program is expensive but it's not something you can do many other places. They also email you many photos to download!

Surreal experience with dolphins! Beautiful place! Awesome honeymoon excursion! Swimming with the dolphins was amazing and the people were also amazing!

Each show is on a set schedule so you walk from location to location every 15 to 30 minutes. They have a cool dolphin show, and fun/informational shows with sea lions, parrots, turtles, crocodiles, and fish/sharks/rays. The dolphin show was the highlight watching them do tricks and interacting with the trainer in the water. There's a small beach area where you can interact with some fish by feeding them. They say there's a swimming area but I didn't see anywhere I'd swim. They have a gift shop at the entrance and a couple of beverage/snack huts mixed in with the show locations. It can be warm/humid so plan accordingly.

Boy were we wrong! Clearly these trainers have been working hard to teach new tricks. The dolphins in the show are the biggest dolphins we have ever seen (and we see them a LOT here in Florida). Years ago we paid extra to swim with dolphins. All I can say is those dolphins you swim with are NOT this big. If they were, everyone would be afraid! The ones in the show are massive and that muscle translates into some of the most spectacular jumping moves anywhere. Don't think twice about paying the admission for this attraction. Besides the Dolphins, the Sea Lion and Parrot shows are fun too (tip: ask them to turn on the fans in the Parrot tent, it gets hot!). Even if you've been here many times before, we strongly encourage you to revisit this place if only for the Dolphin Show. Congrats to the trainers. Those dolphins clearly love what they do. Bravo!

First thing is that, yes, there's a big sign on the street to enter but, you feel like you're going the wrong direction after you have to navigate through a resort gate and drive-through what appears to be there maintenance area before arriving at the discovery center. The building itself looks newer and is very large and there's plenty of parking. Upon entering, we had no idea what to expect because we couldn't find the cost of admission anywhere so we had to ask and make the determination if we wanted to go. For $15 per adult and six dollars per student we decided why not. The museum itself is set out nicely with the first floor, including a history of the Florida indigenous people, and then the development of the keys. These are lots of computer screens with interactive items but, they need to be locked because we accidentally got to the desktop and saw we went this first with a variety of windows open, various search items and even Roblox and other games open that kids were playing. There is also a small aquarium section with three tanks. Upstairs there is a small art gallery and a theater that plays a rotation of historical movies. We saw one about state parks (1/5) and one about the overseas highway (4/5). So kind of hit and miss there. If you are a history or museum buff or really interested in the keys then this might be worth a stop but, would not recommend for a family with kids as they will get bored easily.

That said, we had a really nice time here. It has a small intimate feel so you are close to the tanks and you can take your time. We came later in the day and we were able to catch the game fish and shark feeding. The tank itself was pretty dark and it was honestly hard to see much happening in the water, but the staff member giving the talk was engaging and informative. We learned a lot especially about mangroves and how important they are to the ecosystem. We also stayed for most of the touch tank tuck in tour which I found to be surprisingly sweet. They secure the animals before closing to ensure everyone is safe and protected while the staff is not on site. They also encourage audience participation and there was only one child there at the time I was present, but she really seemed to enjoy helping put the animals away. It was very cute and the staff was very kind to her and made sure she understood what was going on. All the staff were very knowledgeable and genuinely friendly and you could tell they care about what they do. I personally liked seeing the clownfish and learning about them, but my favorite was probably the queen triggerfish. She was beautiful and full of personality. There was also a large tortoise which my husband really enjoyed watching swim around the large tank. The aquarium is dog friendly and since we were traveling through the area we probably would not have come otherwise. I love dog friendly activities and I always give extra stars just for that. Our pup was safe and felt curious and it was enjoyable for her too. They also have a little kiosk where you can take a free digital souvenir photo so I snapped one of us with our dog. It's a small touch but all the patrons loved it. I did read a lot of reviews before coming that made it seem like the price of admission was not worth it because the aquarium is small. I live near the Monterey Bay aquarium and have visited it many times. It's one of the best aquariums in the world and you can spend hours inside, but it costs $65 per person. The key West aquarium cost us around $20 and I doubt many people spend more than an hour - 90 minutes here but I think if you put it into perspective the price is absolutely reasonable. There was a lot of empty space and spots under construction, which is understandable but makes more of an impact when the aquarium itself is so small. Overall, this is a quick educational, easy stop in Key West and we are definitely glad we visited.

It's a smaller, more intimate space that you can take your time walking through in about 30 minutes. That being said, it's a great 'time burn' if you're looking to get out of the sun for a bit, especially for families. At around $10 for kids, it's a very affordable educational stop. They have routine interactive presentations throughout the day that are actually quite insightful and give you a closer look at the local marine life and even tidbits about local culture. It's a solid addition to a day on Duval Street, particularly if you have children who want a more hands-on experience.
