Ooooh, I LOVE this shop. You could easily wander in first thing Monday morning and not come out till Wednesday lunchtime. There are rails and rails of clothes from the 1920s onwards, a men's section on the third floor and oodles of linen, accessories, hats and suitcases. Even old, working sewing machines, buttons and fabulous Vogue patterns from the 1950s. Just when you think you've seen everything, there's another nook or cranny just waiting to be explored. The only heartbreaking thing is that in many cases, the sizes are just too small for most people today. A consequence of changing body shapes, I suppose. But if you are a size 16, then prepare for a long rummage to find something your size. I know, I've been there. But if you look like Christina Hendricks, there's every chance you could leave looking like an extra from Mad Men or like you've walked from the pages of The Best of Everything.
