There's always something a little different and while many of the toys are on the pricier end, there are some great gifts for under $10 that kids around the 5-year-old mark absolutely love. The one disappointment for me was they never seem to have any sales. Maybe that was their point of different, but I try and stock up at toy sales for the dozens of birthday parties we go to each year. Recently, they have started offering Lego at 15-20% off. It's a start and may be a sign of things to come. If you want a toy that will impress, go to here and make the most of attentive and knowledgable staff that will show you many options. You can't get that at Kmart.

I prefer Toyworld to other toy retailers, and I'm sure a lot of that is to do with childhood memories. I also feel their range is better though. This store is pretty big, and easy to figure out. You have toys for boys, then toys for girls, toys for babies, and sporting toys. Easy. The staff are pretty good, which I think you have to be to work in a toy store (when I last went in the place was being overrun with screaming children and the assistant kept a smile on her face the whole time.

This is the first outlet I ever went to actually and I fell in love immediately. I have nieces and nephews and I can't bear the Bratz dolls or John Cena replica's of this decade, thats why I like to buy their presents here. There are toys here that let you get creative, like jewellery sets and crystal forests, metal puzzle things, archeology sets and chemistry. I hated them with a passion, they were always lame and lacked in imagination and fun. Well, it looks like educational toys have come a long way since then. There's some genuinely cool stuff in here. The big kid in me could have spent a good hour or two looking at all the cool stuff, but I was being rushed by my better half, so I grabbed the coolest thing I could find in my price range and bought it for my nephew, who's not even one year old yet. This shop is really good if you've got young children and you're trying to find good and at the same time, educational (the two seem to rarely coincide in the way that the makers intend - the important ingredient will always be the child's imagination and they way they use what you've bought them), then this shop is great. The staff are really helpful and lovely. I'll be back again for sure.
