Well, it was a pleasant experience as far as finding things I was looking for until I went to cash out. The older gentleman w/a mustache at the register didn't have much of a customer service personality. Either he was new and didn't know how to operate the register when it came to debit/credit card pmt. or just wanted to be difficult. I saw how he was w/the people prior to me going up to cash out and he was just as unpleasant.
Used a debit card first. Wouldn't change to credit when I hit the enter/green button twice. I told him twice it's not working, it keeps asking for a PIN. He's asking if I took the card out. In my head I'm saying, "You're standing there watching me hit the enter button, at what point did you see me take the card out?" To him I said no, it just keeps saying enter PIN. He said it must be something wrong w/my card. Ok, lets try a straight up credit card. I swiped it. Nothing, but I asked did it go thru? No. I put the chip in. Again, nothing. I asked again if it was recognizing the card being inserted or did it go thru, again no. I took the card out. He said do it again. Did the exact same thing. I said I never have an issue using this card. Again he says there must be something wrong w/my card.
At no time does he call a mgr to come check if there's an issue w/the credit card machine/keypad or to cancel the transaction and start over.
I said I think I'll take my business elsewhere. That's when he finally calls a mgr to come and void the transaction. I went to the Dollar Tree on Warwick Ave and had no issues. read more
