Now... I took 8 years of Spanish but my brain went haywire and I couldn't say a single word of Spanish. That was a problem as everyone spoke Spanish. And not everyone spoke English. That's not a problem, of course. I should have been more prepared but my big dumb dumb brain failed me. There are at least two places to order ice cream inside. We got ice cream from the stand right by the entrance. That was the wrong one as I had wanted to try the stand with the unique flavors like corn and horchata. The one we went to had like a dozen basic flavors and milkshakes. Do a little bit of wandering inside if you want to find the stand with the unique flavors. There are dozens of other stalls inside, selling all sorts of stuff from cheap garbage to even dishwashers and hot tubs! We didn't see what the food trucks outside had. My bf got 2 scoops of ice cream ($5.50) and I panicked ordered a massive size of an oreo milkshake ($8.75 and 80000 calories). It was okay. Not as good as a DQ Blizzard which is top tier in the oreo mix em up game. Prices are barely on anything so make sure to brush up on your basic Spanish. As for the bathroom, it was messy, busy, and well worn. Also, parking was near impossible and potholes are abundant. Yikes. I am glad we tried this interesting experience, but I don't think I will ever go back.

I'm guessing they buy Amazon pallets or excess store inventory because once something sells out, you might never see it in stock again. I went in looking for an instant pot as I had seen them posted on their FB page. The people in the store sometimes will give you a discount on the advertised price and sometimes will negotiate. They also have a location on W 38th and one on the East side but I haven't been to the Eastside location. I love their deals and while you can return defective products, you'll get in store credit and not a cash refund so that's something to keep in mind.

The showroom was fun to browse and check out was pretty easy. Each item has a QR code that you scan and purchase online. You can also shop from home and pick up at the store. My cell service wasn't great in the store, but they do have wifi, so if you experience a dead zone, ask for the password. There are bins in a separate area next door - I didn't realize this, so I'll have to go back and look through those. I believe those are mostly clothing items. This is a great spot to treasure hunt. I ended up with a large clock to hang in my entryway and it was $30. Originally over $80, so a great deal.

Basically, this is the place all non-purchased items from Target go for a last ditch rescue. My favorite thing here are the comforters, which you can get for $22 or less! This quaint little shop was very nice and cute, and had some nice local merchandise and unique nicnacks. I walked through the shop and could tell it had a nice selection of merchandise and the value of the price appeared to be very good. I went into a separate room that had 50% off merchandise, and found a few things that caught my eye which I ended up purchasing. They were kitchen coasters and they were very decorative and attractive looking. The service at the shop was Ok. The woman behind the cashier table was very nice and said hello when I first walked into the shop. When I checked out, she was very gracious and wrapped my kitchen coasters very carefully so that they would not break. Fivethirty Home is a neat shop with great merchandise, so if you are in downtown Zionsville, you should check it out. It is very nice and worth browsing around.

The new location has lots of nooks and crannies for setting up interesting displays and they do. We stopped by while out doing some Christmas shopping and found the store packed with shoppers. Good to see people supporting these small independent shops. They carry about 1/3 vintage items like globes and suitcases and nicely painted furniture pieces, about 1/3 local artisan decor mostly Indiana themed (which I love) and then about 1/3 reproduction vintage filler such as wrapping paper and trendy letter art. In addition she carries a line of high quality chalk paint and supplies. They teach classes on how to use the chalk paint (which I've been meaning to take). The pieces that she finishes are gorgeous - mostly little side tables. Today they carried a lot of Christas themed items. The owner is very friendly and happy to provide advice on painting. She is indeed gifted. The prices on the chalk paints are a little high so I haven't taken the plunge yet until I know I have time to complete a project. I see many customers coming to buy the paint and supplies so they must be happy. There is street parking available and a free lot across the street but it can be a bear to find a spot on a Saturday. They are not opened on Sunday. I'll be back and perhaps soon I'll take one of her classes.

It took just about 45 minutes for us to explore the whole thing so I thought it was a nice size as well. There was a good variety of modern and vintage items. Gizmo's was hopping when we arrived. The booths are close together and the aisles are tight, so with people and carts, it's crowded. The booths are fairly tidy. Most are filled with clothes....lots and lots of secondhand clothes. I saw a lot of video tapes and "collectible" toys. In general, there were a lot of fleas. In the 50+ booths, I saw only a couple of antique pieces. I thought the prices were high, but a couple booths offered sales. I left empty handed. Maybe that's a good thing. The clerks are friendly and engaging. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall lot. They have an avid following. Just not me.
