The cashier, Gail, who identified herself as the manager, was not only unaware of the promotion but became hostile when I asked to use a valid $10 digital coupon from the DG app. She flatly refused to apply it without any explanation. When I requested to speak to a manager, she claimed she was the one in charge and then threatened to call the police on me simply for trying to complete my purchase. She actually picked up the phone to call law enforcement, but after speaking with another individual (who seemed to be an actual superior), she was instructed to honor the coupon--proving it was valid all along. Despite finishing the transaction, she then told me I was no longer allowed in the store. I have already filed a formal complaint with corporate (Case #1620791). It is deeply concerning that a "manager" would weaponize law enforcement over a digital coupon and an advertised sale. I've lived in this area for a while now and have never been treated with such disrespect. Save yourself the headache and go to a different location where the staff is trained in basic customer service and store policy.
