I go in from time to time to see if they have any household items and have gotten some great deals. Last time I got giant bottles of TUMS (don't expire and unopened) for $1 each! Pro tip: Be sure to use their app to scan for prices because nothing is in the right place or marked. You'll go crazy if you don't.

Completely unprofessional start to finish. An emergency would have been understandable but this was just flat out ridiculous and I won't be going back so that I can be continually approached bc she wanted to leave early. On a side note, the dollar general in Reno, TX closes at 10 so I'm not sure how many hours early she was trying to close the store.

I figured I'd see if there was a chance that Big Lots might have some. Lo and behold, they had lot close-outs from Travelocity accessories and I got these awesome Micro USB to regular USB cables that were retractable - for $5 each. So - for the same price as a non-retractable cable at Radio Shack, I got 3 of them, one for the car, one for home and one for the office. WIN! One thing any shopper should know on their maiden voyage into Big Lots, it's never the same store twice. Well, not 'never' - but it won't be the same every time you go in unless you go in two days in a row. They get close-outs from stores that go out of business - so if you see a killer deal, don't assume they'll always have that item. They won't have it ever again in some cases. Deals on nice looking, student-priced furniture at times - from beds to sofas and quality patio furniture. Big Lots stores keep their prices down by having few employees and many are not necessarily the cream of the crop as far as knowledgeable, or a motivation to clean the aisles, etc. The stores can look a little divey sometimes - especially because moms come in there with 3+ kids that wreak havoc. Despite this issue, Big Lots is a great place to browse shop. I always end up finding something that I meant to buy elsewhere for twice the price when I wasn't even thinking about that item. Fun stuff to be found here - from blank CDs to costume jewelry.
