When I brought it up with the manager in Quincy to see if he could make things right - nothing they could do, not even a measly $20 credit. Horrible customer service model. When your car experiences issues while a customer is driving it and costs the customer their time and money - you do what is needed to make things right - . Apparently this is a tough lesson that Hertz Quincy mgmt staff will need to learn via this review and all whom may encounter it. Details: While I had a car from the Quincy Hertz the check engine light came on. When I called road side assistance they explained that although it is the weekend - there's a location about an hour away that can take the car and give a new one. I was out of town at the time in another state so I decided to make the trip just to be safe. After arriving there the lady at the desk tells me she has no cars available and she told the rep I was working with over the phone that she didn't have any. There was nothing they could do. There goes 2 hours of my time I'm never getting back. When I brought this up to the manager of the Quincy Hertz I expected there was something that could be done for the inconvenience I experienced. You would think they would want to make things right for the sake of returning business. Nope. Nothing they can do - is what it is. I won't be going back to give Hertz any business and I sure won't be recommending them to anyone I know. That's for sure!

    Title: Charged for a full month of protection I did not authorize…read more I want to share my experience to warn others about a billing issue I encountered with Enterprise. Initially, my insurance company arranged a short-term rental (about 5-6 days) for me at this location. When I picked up the car, I purchased protection coverage and paid a little over $200. I clearly told the staff that I only needed protection for those few days, and asked them to inform me if there would be any additional charges later. After that, my insurance company extended the rental to about one month. I called the branch to confirm the extension and explicitly told the staff that I did NOT want to continue the protection coverage for the extended period. I was told that it would be taken care of. However, after returning the vehicle, I found that I was charged for approximately 30 days of protection, totaling over $900. I never authorized this, and there was no written confirmation. Additionally, I was told I would receive a follow-up call, but no one ever contacted me. I am currently working with my bank to dispute this charge. If I cannot recover the money, I may have no choice but to pay it. I am sharing this so others can learn from my experience: - Do not rely on verbal confirmations - Always request written proof for any changes - Carefully review your final receipt after returning the vehicle I hope this helps others avoid a similar situation.

I go and the guy at the desk is arguing with someone because he charged them twice. He told them to get a new bank and that he can't do anything. Should have left then. Actually getting into a car that I had a reservation for took over an hour. Multiple people were waiting and he would half assist someone then move on to the next person before finishing. When he finally does help me, he tells me only EVs are available. I look out in the lot and there had to be a dozen gas vehicles sitting there. I offer to pay out of pocket for the difference of what my insurance is providing and their price for literally any gas vehicle. Was told no and was given a half charged EV. The guy told me to watch YouTube videos on how to charge it. You'd ask this guy a question and he just wouldn't respond half the time. During my check out at the vehicle he walked away from me mid-question. I promise you I am more chill than most and wasn't giving him a hard time, but he just didn't seem to care about customer experience whatsoever. I wasn't even told when the vehicle was due back or what the fees charged to my credit card were for. The interior was clean enough, but not great. The battery on that thing would go down like 5% for every 2 miles driven it sucked. I attempted to charge it. It said 12 hours to completion, would charge for 5 minutes, then say completed. I'm not going to spend 12 hours sitting there babysitting it to make sure it stays charging. Ended up dropping it off a day early after-hours. Only easy part of this process. Ended up going to enterprise down the street the next day and had an excellent customer service experience.

Priceline listed them as an airport rental so I got an uber to the airport and enter the car rental area. No U-Save. I look at my confirmation and they say to call and they will pick me up. Took forever for them to arrive. Other shuttles passed through 3x before my shuttle arrived. They will nickle and dime for toll fees and addition to fraudulent scratch claims. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITHOUT DOCUMENTATION. They have an electronic sign pad and the guy will say sign here to show you picked up the vehicle and on return they will say sign here to show you delivered the vehicle. In my email they claim I agreed that the car was in the condition before pickup and after pickup that they claim. They never said this at all. ASK FOR WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING AND READ THE FINE PRINT. YOU WILL BE CHARGED. My 290 dollar rental turned into an 880 dollar bill for 9 days rental. I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to tell someone to electronically sign something and claim they signed for a reason other than what was stated. They give you no paperwork at all. They said I had an incident when I did not. I very minor scratch on the car, that I believe was there before I left. I took pics of numerous scratches on the car that were not highlighted yet they claim there was a new one. Pictures are so terrible scratch can not even be seen. They charged me 500 dollars for something I did not do. If my credit card doesn't side with me I will see if it is worth it for an attorney. If an attorney reads these and wants to go for a class action lawsuit I am happy to tell how they lied, provide the pictures and also describe how they fraudulently claim you signed something stating an event that you never read. steve 434.426.1837

Then, even though I showed them the type of vehicle I booked, they showed me some fine print in the subtext that read, "Vehicle type not guaranteed". I was attempting to rent a multi-passenger vehicle for a field trip I was organizing. I ended up with a smaller van and having to recruit two chaperones to take the kids that couldn't fit. They promised me I could return my vehicle at 5PM on a Sunday. When I got there, nobody there. I waited for 2 hours, nobody came, then when I came back the next day they charged me for an extra day... and charged me another full day for parking (I left my car in their lot). When I said I attempted to return the vehicle on time but that nobody was there, they said, "Sorry, not my problem." Ridiculous and cruel! They also charge you more if you book them off of Expedia, just be aware. Evidently there's some contract language that allows them to do that. "Ripoff" doesn't even begin to describe this company. You've been warned.
