I also noticed a sign that said that strollers were not allowed, so I would not recommend coming with your small infant unless you have an infant carrier to let you be hands free. While browsing I saw some new striped Target heels on a shoe rack in different sizes and a bunch of random household items in the various bins. I didn't see much plus size women's clothing or clothing in general. I am sure that the items vary based on the day and time you'd come in. However, I am not sure if I would return any time soon. They got greedy so now the manager removes the good deals and sells them separately for $20-$150. I once bought a brand new item worth around 80 bucks for 5 bucks and now that item would be in the glass case at the front of the store for $90. The stuff that they removed from the bins gets removed and overpriced. I've been back a few times hoping it would change back to the way it was. This new business strategy maybe profitable in the short term but not in the long term. The place was always packed with high energy people hoping to find a lucky deal. It's all just bins FILLED WITH JUNK NOW and not nearly as many people go there anymore. You have to give people a reason to go there and if they can't occasionally find a lucky deal then there's no reason to keep coming back. On my first visit, I came in to buy candy and ending up browsing. And during that initial visit, I appreciated how many items this store has to offer and how well it's laid out. The patrons and workers take care of this store. I don't know how long it's been open, but it doesn't have the "tired" feel of most discount stores. And it's neat. Things aren't all piled up on each other in any random area; each section is separate and where you would expect to find something it's usually there. I didn't initially think of Deals as a "dollar store" but there are a lot of things that are $1. If I had kids, I come here every other month or so, give them $10 and let them go crazy. And if I were just starting out and not sure of what I needed, I would come here to buy dinnerware, glasses, etc. The prices are comparable to (and in some cases lower than) Wal-Mart and Target, so why deal with the parking and long check out lines of a bigger store? PROS: -I actually have found some really good deals in this place in decent -condition! : Washer and Dryer with dining table with three chairs (all wood) and delivery = $150.00 (although we found out later that the bottom of the washing machine leaked, but it wasnt bad at all). - The One dollar grocery store have some really good deals on some good items such as dollar bread and dollar darjeeling tea (that is usually quite pricey) - it is indoors, away from the elements! -there are some very interesting characters and items around CONS: -There seem to be less and less vendors so there is not much of a variety going on. -There were a couple of times that I wanted to purchase an item and they gave me a price that was way too high for the item (needless to say, i didnt buy it) -There were too many occasions that the item that I bought from the dollar grocery store like cereal or tea HAD BUGS IN THEM ... gross... - And please be careful when you buy food from the dollar grocery store, because if you dont pay attention, you will end up buying an item that has expired two years ago! I dont even know how they can legally sell those things... so there... i have good days, and bad days... i guess it is more of a hit and miss... i would say if you dont live within 15 minutes of this place, it is not worth the drive.
