When me and my husband are In this city, we always go all the way into town just to stop In @ this certain DG! Not every DG will give you the actual penny Items but this DG will give you the Items for a penny. The Items actually rings up to a penny too! If I find an Item that Is on the penny Item list at my DG In my town, WILL NOT, give me the Item for a penny under NO CIRCUMSTANCE! Let me say this again, at my DG In the town that I live In WILL NOT give me that Item for a penny and that Item Is listed for a penny and that Item Is on the penny list. I basically had to stop shopping specifically for the penny Items basically at my DG unfortunately. Because they just won't honor the penny Items basically. Which that's bull because I can see everyone else that ships for penny Items they get the Items for a penny which It Irks me because I have to drive several miles just to be able to shop for the penny Items. IYKYK ‍ I know when I shop here at this DG, which Isn't much anymore because we don't come here to this city a lot anymore but when we dI'd come here, we knew this DG honors the penny Items and they don't let their customers do their jobs and find the penny Items so the workers can keep the penny Items for theirselves. No they won't buy the Items, they get someone they know to come tI the store and purchase the penny Items for them. Trust me! The workers has ways around It. I appreciate this DG doesn't do this. If you know certain Items are on the shelves and you check out w/ those deals, you will get those Items exactly what you are supposed too. This DG Is legit! Staff are always nice but there has never been more than 2 registers open at a time and most of the time it's just one. They have a huge selection of books....all kinds including children's books. I buy for my kids here all the time. It's just hard to find if you are looking for something specific. They keep up with items from the current season which is nice. Some prices are better than other stores bur some are not. If you sign up to be a member you get emails about current items, discounts on your order and invitations to special events. You don't want to see pictures....it's not pretty but is worth the trip if you have time to look around.

As entering the store, quite a makeover. The guy at the register may be the manager greeted every customer entering the store a pleasant and welcoming experience. The prices seem to increase significantly. I did go in to purchase a few specific items but they no longer seem to carry. I looked at some furniture and found a recliner which seemed to be well made and supportive for my back; however, I could not get it to recline and no one in the department came over to ask if I needed assistance. I did see three other employees somewhat nearby. My mom purchased years ago a beautiful Broyhill kitchen table and chairs in another state and when she told me where she bought it and the price, I was very surprised in a good way. Another reason to stop in to see the furniture etc even though I was not looking to replace anything but in case I found something I really liked. I did see a sturdy 3 piece bistro but the table was not on the floor with the displayed chairs. Definitely need to sit in and see if comfortable or not. The name of this store sums it up -- a lot of dollar items and dollar or more-plus things, but none were over-priced compared to comparable places. The last thing asked as I left the store was if I was looking for anything in particular, because he'd order it.
