They don't care about their employees and it shows. They pump products into these stores whether the store is able to move it or not. They pay low wages but want 1000% of you, back. They could could care less about their employees. My district manager was a complete jerk. He came into town, saw the condition of our store (which was in shambles due to years of mismanagement) and we worked off the clock until 2am to try and make it presentable to his boss whom was coming in the following day. When the big guy arrived, the district manager took all of the credit for what was achieved and didn't bother to mention us peasants. THUMBS DOWN TO DG I'd give it a negative if I could.

Finally a lady came to another register and started checking people out. At one of the registers there was confusion with a $5 off coupon which took some additional time and at the other one someone kept delaying things because his card was not working. Knowing that bottlenecks and understaffing can occur, I waited patiently in line. Eventually the younger woman customer (who was in front of me) starts putting her items out to be scanned at the register the lady cashier and I were at. Furthermore at this time there was an older woman checking out at the front register that the guy cashier was at. She was literally standing there putting her items in the cart RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REGISTER, NOT AT THE BAGGING AREA. I was far enough way from her that I COULD NOT SEE THAT SHE HAD ALREADY PAID. She was not at the bagging area, just IN FRONT WHERE ONE PAYS. So I continue to wait patiently till the female cashier blurts out--"DUDE go to the front register......can't you see there's a line of people. Pay attention. I'm trying to help you out." Now as I had a splitting headache and I try to avoid drama at all costs, I just quietly went up to the front register where the guy was, paid, and left as I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Also, I should note that I had to reach over to put my items out to be scanned because the older lady was still blocking me. Unlike others who were visibly annoyed having to wait in line, I tried to be calm, respectful and collected. And I'm the one that gets berated like that !!!!! I used to work in the service sector so I know these jobs can be stressful. But rudely blurting out to a customer like that is uncalled for and unnecessary. I don't know if I will be returning to that Dollar General.

Very surprised to see an Asian market with a great variety of options in the area. Their fresh produce was a bit low in stock but they had Taiwan and Napa cabbage and fresh ginger. Inside seems clean and there is parking right outside of the market. Cashier was really friendly.
