If ratings could go into the negative, my experience today would merit a review well into the…read morenegative. People at this location have rarely been courteous. Most are surly and curt. Customer Service is generally nonexistent. (We did encounter one nice employee on a previous occasion) Previously when my wife purchased items in the store that were on sale, she wanted more of the same thing and they weren't in stock. So she asked about ordering more online. The clerk nastily responded that she wouldn't be able to get them at the sale price. Which was fine, but there's no need to bark at us. Today my experience went even further south. I was there to pick up the items that had been ordered online. I waited for someone to help me. A man that looked like he just crawled out of bed and was wearing a faded True Value gray T-shirt from perhaps 20 years ago asked if he could help me. And it wasn't in the tone of, "welcome to True Value. What can I help you with?" It was in the tone of, "Let's get on with this so that I can get back to what I'm doing!" I told him that I had ordered some items online and I got an email from True Value saying that they are in and I'm here to pick them up. Just then I noticed my items on the floor. Which were not marked with my name or the fact that they were sold and paid for. I said, "Oh, here they are." And then in an intense and elevated voice Mr. True Value barked at me, "She'll have to check you out over there!!", gesturing to an open register where no one was. I said, "These are already paid for. I bought them online." To which he responded with an even louder and more sharp voice, "YEAH! But she STILL needs to check you out over THERE!!!! It was at this point that I said, "OK. But there's no reason to yell at me". And then I added, "I'm not your dog so please don't treat me like one." At the checkout, the girl had me sign a paper saying that I had received them, which was perfectly fine with me. The man that treated me this way it was a few feet away. As I signed the paper I asked the checkout girl motioning to the man who was rude, "What's his name?" She said, "Gary." I said, "and what's your manager's name?" "Gary. Same guy". I asked "Then who is your district manager?" Blank stare. "Gary's the owner." I was astonished that an owner would have a hateful attitude toward the customer. The clerk was if no further help, in part because the owner was a few feet away listening. I tried obtaining a national customer service phone number to report it but no joy yet. I'm going to use my contacts with a national supplier who deals wth the company to see if I can get anyone who gives a care. I certainly won't find it here. Meny's True Value was in Princeton for years before opening one in Jasper. I'm surprised they can stay in business with such a pervasive rude attitude toward the patrons without whom they would not have a job.

Every employee is nice and is quick to help. To be fair, I'm actually an employee here but I'm also a customer so I'm doing my part as there's no reviews yet. (II also have to say sometimes I don't know where things are but I'm rather new-ish so I do my best and leave both the customer and myself happy as we both know where things are). Prices are to be expected. Sales are weekly. Clearance sales are end of season. Always a great fast way to stock up for less.

I get gas here about once a week. Parking is tight and if you stop by during lunch or right after…read morework you will have a hard time finding a place to park. Other than obvious space for people to gas up at the pumps there is no marked parking. People park wherever and however, often blocking the way for others to navigate through the lot. One positive is that they have 90 octane gas without alcohol for your lawn equipment. It is in the pump closest to the car wash. Speaking of car wash, don't waste your time with this one. It is fair at best. I had to dry off my car by hand afterwards after the $10 wash. The blow dryer made noise but didn't do the job. My father-in-law used to come here for smokes and lottery tickets. He liked the staff because they were like he was. My experience: Some are friendly and one was a genuine smart Alec, to use a polite word. This accurately reflects the attitude of the owners in my estimation.

While there, I noticed that they had Charlie's Chicken set up for carry-out. I have had their chicken before at a different location near Scotland, IN and it was delicious. My quick visit included a trip to the restroom. I found the men's room to be clean, neat and orderly. I can not comment on the ladies room, but I would imagine it was also in good shape. Fuel prices were as good as any in the area. O wouldn't hesitate to return.

We ended up at Kohl's in Vincennes, Indiana. So as I was shopping with my eight-year-old, and my 88-year-old dad and here it is almost Christmas. There were all kinds of people in the store and it was busy. I was shopping with my dad and all the sudden I realized he had left us. This is not a big concern, but slightly because I never know what we will end up doing so as we were shopping, and looking for dad, I find him, and this absolutely precious sales clerk (I think her name was Hailey) was taking him around the store, helping him find 2 pair of pajamas for my mother. She was very patiently waiting as he would find either a reason that it was not just perfect or it wasn't made quite right for mom. Not one time did she do anything less but to smile and try to find something that would suit him. The funny thing is my dad is very particular when it comes to shopping and it is very trying sometimes on your patience. But not one time did she do anything except encourage him that they would find the perfect pajamas for my mother. I don't know for sure how long she helped him but I know I was with him for about 15 minutes and they had been looking for quite a while before that. I just want to give a big shout out once again to Kohl's in Vincennes, IN. This is why I love shopping at Kohl's, Customer Service is number one! Merry Christmas!- not only Hayley was super sweet, but the manager at the front had chatted with my dad when he got tired of shopping while we were waiting and a very nice man named George waited on us so kindly!
