There are also a lot of treats and candy that reminded me of a Pier 1 or World Trade Market. And you can find some European brands of things you just can't find in regular stores. I see Lidl as someplace to go occasionally since they are out of the way for us but if we lived closer we would shop more regularly. Ok last thing, lots of people compare this to ALDI. I don't they really are different, the bakery is far better than anything at ALDI, they also sell lower end oddities like a Dollar store, and many German or EU food products. They do carry some of the low-end brands that ALDI sells and for both stores that's part of their value. Some folks are ok to have 3rd rate quality to save a little money. For us we are selective and I don't mind hitting several grocery stores to get the best that each offers.

When he pulled up, an employee was locking the doors and wouldn't let him in. She kept saying they were closed, despite the fact that it wasn't 11pm yet. I understand wanting to close the store down and end your shift, but as someone who worked multiple retail jobs, I know that you aren't supposed to keep customers out of the store if you aren't actually closed.
