When I am hungry, Turkey Hill is where I will go, especially when I am traveling. There are many hard-working people throughout the various Turkey Hill stores. And, though my many years on this planet has taught me that any store/person can have a bad day, what I can say about the Turkey Hill store at 735 S Broad St in Lititz, PA, is that the store and its personnel are CONSISTENTLY terrific. That consistency keeps me coming back. Every week, I travel to Lititz from my home in Lebanon County, and in over 3 1/2 years, I have never been disappointed with the service at this Turkey Hill. Of course the counter can be busy at certain times, but that is because the store is popular. The manager, June, is very personable and ready to help, and personnel such as Jess, are very hard-working and have, on certain occasions, impressed me with their ability to multi-task. The overall atmosphere of the store is upbeat, and SPECIAL DECORATIONS during the numerous holidays make the store a special place to drop in quickly or sit at the tables, dine in, and just take it easy. In short, this is, in my quasi-humble opinion, the best Turkey Hill store in the tri-county region. I highly recommend patronizing this Turkey Hill and, if possible, slow down and enjoy the store.

About two weeks ago I went there to get gas. After a few cents worth going in my tank, it stopped…read more I went into the turkey hill where there were two guys behind the counter and told them the issue. They said this happened to a previous customer. He asked if I got the cheap stuff. I said no I got the middle one. Neither seemed to know what to do and said they might have to call someone if it happens to someone else. I was in a rush so I said I would try a different grade. I went out and the higher grade worked. Meanwhile two other customers were having the same issue and I went to tell them the issue instead of the employees coming out. Hopefully they actually put a sign out there for future customers but not betting on it. Now it is two weeks later. I am hoping that the previous issue is a one time deal. I pull in, get out of my car and when I go to put my card in I notice a small note in maybe 12 pt font that says they are temporarily out of gas. That should be a big sign as to not waste our time. That should be on the big sign where the prices are. I saw 4 other cars pull in after me so I was not the only one wasting my time. They really need to get their act together. If this is going to be a regular issue I will take my business up the street.

Not every item is bargain priced. Some might even be the same or even more than a regular full service supermarket. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. Finally, if you are not sure if you will like a product as it could be a strange flavor or very spicy, buy one of the items and taste it after you check out. If it turns out that you really like the product and the price is too good to pass up, go back and buy to your heart's content. If you don't buy on the same day, most likely the next time you return, the product could be gone.

Obviously Walmart will be the king of lowest prices due to it being the biggest. But it was a great store. Employees are really helpful. One thing I found weird and I think will become more common place in the coming years was a robot that was autonomous and was to clean spills. For all we know it can be hacked and is going to kill someone. Nice grocery store.

Its pricey ($19/lb) folks, so we are talking a $35 steak here. Also, note that it is not a true T-bone, in that the filet portion is non-existant, so its really a boned up NY strip. I wanted to compare with the Choice-gradeT-bones we get at BJ's for $8.50lb. End result - while flavorful, the cut was less tender than the b'js piece, which was cut in true rib eye fashion BTW. We all agreed that the Wyebrook had a slightly more "beefy" flavor (grass fed), but that it didn't justify the double price per lb. So while tasty, i can't say I'd buy thier steaks again, simpy due tot the fact that the price/benefit ratio is not there. Why Not Farms scottish highland cattle have better flavor and tenderness for about $3/lb less. Still a fun place to visit - just maybe control the impluse buys on the meat...;-)

Stopped at Aldi's for a few things after not finding them at the discount store down the street…read more Although Giant is next door I choose Aldi's because I like their cut mangos. They cut them at the peak of perfection and for only $3.99 a package it's a healthy affordable snack. Giant tends to cut theirs too early and therefore never ripen properly. Aside from mangos I needed almond milk, hamburger, chicken thighs, and fresh cilantro. I'm not really a fan of Aldi's because it's hard to do a weeks' worth of shopping here plus the deposit on the cart and not offering free bags is a nuisance. This was my first time at this location. I was surprised to see the fresh produce was picked thru. Many selections were empty. Including my beloved sliced mangos and cilantro. The meat dept was priced really high, but I was able to find organic, grass fed hamburger at a reasonable price and much less than non-organic which makes no sense. I had my own bags with me but the 2 half gallons of milk were heavy and awkward to hold and carry. There was only one lone cashier and the line extended into the shopping isle. A customer that was checking out and at the register was chatting away with the previous customer thus delaying her payment, while everyone in line just stood there. The cashier did nothing to hurry her along. Sighs echoed from all of us waiting and was testing my patience level. When it was my turn I arranged my reusable bags in the cashier's cart so all she had to do was drop the items in after scanning. Instead she proceeded to dump everything in the cart beside my bags. When I asked her to please place them in the bags, she refused, uttering about some customer "policy". I've found other locations will place items in the bags IF you arrange them in the cart. What kind of "policy" is so anti customer service focused that they only have one cashier, who sits down the whole time no less, AND is allowed to refuse to put items in the bags?!? In fact she went out of her way to drop them away from the bag. To dump in the bag or beside it takes the same amount of effort. So now I have to hold up the line scooping my items up myself so she could have her coveted cart back. Ugh! I'm graciously giving 2 stars because they offered hand sanitizer and I do love those mangos. But seriously Aldi's - you need to start putting your customers first!

We had no idea how much beer to get (I don't drink and she only drinks occasionally), and we were all set to buy a huge amount! The man helped us figure out how much we ACTUALLY needed, which turned out to be significantly less than what we had been anticipating. Lots of businesses will try to up-sell customers, thus encouraging them to spend more money, but this gentleman did the opposite: he saved us a ton of money by encouraging us not to buy too much, while also ensuring that we had an adequate amount and variety for our guests. If we ever need to get beer for an event again, we'd return there in a heartbeat!
