We found the cough drops on our own. No help We put them on the counter they waited until we moved our hands. To be so young and prejudice is sad. We won't ever go to that store again.

So not a very good grocery store at all for the Port Arthur area. It's expensive and it's missing various things that I would want. If they can't be inviting and cordial to customers then they absolutely shouldn't be working there and interacting with the public. I thought Walmart was a friendly place to shop, not some second chance job for anyone off the street. I'm mean really!

The apples always feel greasy, the bags of oranges can guarantee you at least 2 rotten ones. Cherry tomatoes, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries almost every time have a mouldy few hidden inside. I strongly suggest never eating any meat products from there. The chicken has given me and my family food poisoning and the red meat always smells like dirty feet. The store itself is kinda dirty. You definitely get what you pay for. It's pretty bad and I'm not sure how they stay open. The only thing I recommend buying if you must go there is canned and frozen fruits and veggies. Also, make sure you check the expiry date on everything you buy as it is not a common practice for them to remove expired products from the shelves.

I hate going to this store but it's close & convenient. So I went again expecting to have the normal horrible experience. When i went to check out, I started placing my items on the belt. For some reason most checkers turn this off & on. Why? This checker didn't. Thoughtfully, she even raised the first few items up (so they didn't block the photoelectric sensor) so the belt wouldn't turn off & give me more room to put my items. I have NEVER seen this. I was impressed & started watching her. She scanned my items quickly and greeted me & was pleasant. She scanned the items on the belt in an effort to group certain items. Meats together, veggies together, etc... When the carousel was full she even put bags in my cart. I think she said her name was Jennifer Boyd. If management at this store wants to improve your numbers, HAVE JENNIFER BOYD TRAIN OTHER CHECKERS! or you can just let HEB take all of your grocery business. Everybody loves HEB because they value their customers. The worst checker I had had there was a big guy named Matthew! Well organized, fully stocked and farmer's market appeal of thier vegetable selections. Fruit is neatly arranged. Shelves are neat and stocked. The frozen and refrigerator sections are sleek and appealing. Awesome bakery and steam table deli with multiple options for dine in or carry out. Prices are higher than the supermarket but the service, cleanliness and friendly staff make it worthwhile.
