Things are always somewhat messy, no real sort of order, tons of cheaply made items. Don't get me wrong, there are some things that I buy here (cards 2/$1, bubble mailers 2/$1, etc) but my visits are few and far between. I had to amend my first review of this place. I originally gave this location 2-stars but have now dropped it to 1-star based on the experience my sister had here: My sister had my niece and my daughter (both under 1.5 years old) with her. She had shopped at Walmart prior to heading down to Dollar Tree to grab only a couple items. She had the Walmart cart with 2 small children, a huge pack of diapers and some other odds and ends. She got there right as they opened and wanted to run in and get her couple items and run out. The manager refused to allow her in the store with the Walmart cart (even though she said she has done that before). He wanted her to transfer both babies AND her other merchandise into one of their small carts OR leave her $70+ worth of items outside the store while she grabbed her few $1 items. Needless to say, she told him that she will be taking her business elsewhere! AND I WILL TOO FROM NOW ON!!! Seriously, it's like wrangling a bear to even handle one child, let alone 2, let alone have other items. She would have been in and out in like 2 minutes and since they JUST opened, there wouldn't be any other customers in there anyways if her cart was "larger than normal".

Lots of cheap Chinese stuff to buy here, from home decor, clothes, toys, furniture, etc.. They also have household items and some groceries (non-refrigerated items). You can score some pretty good deals here. Just remember, the quality of some of the stuff isn't great, but works depending on what you need. They allow Apple Pay which is a bonus for me.

I think this is the 5th Dollar General in or just right outside the city limits of Mocksville. I have 4 within a 5 mile radius of my house. These things just pop up everywhere. Not really complaining because they are convenient when you don't want to fight Wal-Mart crowds just to get a package of toilet paper. Plenty of parking. They take Apply pay. There are no self checkouts which is a little disappointing. Yeah, I am in the minority when it comes to liking self checkouts.

We've already bought the wine a couple of weeks ago at Total Wine in Huntersville but now in pursuit of some nice Christmas Wine Bags. These are normally readily available this time of year in Dollar Stores. There is one not too far from here but since we were going over to Lincolnton for Lunch at Italiano's , my wife pointed out that we were going to be going past a Dollar General and we could stop there. Neither of us had ever been to this particular store. We stopped in and it appears that Christmas Wine Gift Bags are not out yet but expected in after Halloween. They did have some other nice Christmas Shopping Bags however, so we picked up a couple of those. Store is very nice and well organized, and the store staff is very helpful. Since we are in Lincolnton a couple of times a year, we will definitely be back as it gets closer to Christmas.

The funny part about them closing early tonight when we stopped by at 8:45 PM to get a couple things (they close at 9PM per their sign) was that an employee has illegally parked his car in front with no one in it, store employees were still inside and we weren't the only people trying to stop in. I had a previous review showing the mess this store can be. It's been better for short periods of time but overall is just poorly run. Most people o know will drive up the road to a location closer to Mockesville or Clemmons. If sales have been down here it's because the community has tired of this location and the effort they have put forth for multiple years.
