I came in to buy my usual Irish Cream Monster Energy drink -- a flavor that's already hard to find, much less in the cooler. The cooler space had been empty for days, and the drinks were stocked wrong. I grabbed two at room temperature and went to the register. The store manager rang me up while ignoring me, keeping her body toward another customer and talking about not hiring high school students. When I politely mentioned the cooler being empty, she looked annoyed, her facial expression showing clear irritation, and snapped, "That is the vendor's job." Her tone, look, and body language made it obvious she was upset I spoke up at all. I filed a complaint the same day but got no reply until I escalated. The district manager only called after speaking to the store manager first and brushed it off with "she's sorry." The regional manager never spoke to me -- instead, I later found out a $10 gift card had been issued on Sept 12. That told me exactly how Dollar General values its customers -- as if respect and loyalty are worth only ten dollars. Dollar General's Employee Handbook (pages 5 & 16) prohibits discourteous conduct, unprofessional behavior, dishonesty, discrimination, and failure to cooperate in investigations. All of these were violated here -- by the store manager, the district manager who minimized it, and the regional manager who dismissed it. The manager's comment about not hiring high school students is discrimination. Many seniors are 18 and fully eligible to work, yet she refused to even consider them. Looking back, I also question whether bias against my appearance was a factor in how she treated me. This isn't just one bad interaction -- it's a failure at every level of management. I no longer feel comfortable shopping at Dollar General, not just this store but any in the area, since the same district and regional leaders oversee multiple locations.

    A recently was in this store back in august. I was assisting a client. We had gone in to get him a…read morefew frozen dinners. I had reached into one of the freezers to grab some popsicles. When an employee had said I wouldn't get those. She was standing in the storage room. I put the item back in the freezer and me , and my client turned around and started to walk away from the employee. My client began to talk crap about how the freezers needed to be cleared out of food so people wouldn't buy. She then walked up to us and began to yell and scream at him. This continued for several minutes both of them, yelling and screaming. And then she began to pick up a 1 liter Pepsi bottle like she was going to hit an elderly crippled person with. My elderly client's friend stepped in between them as she continued to yell and threaten him. Saying that she was going to get her husband up there to woop him. I then got my client's attention and got him out of the store before it could escalate any worse. She was very rude and very ugly .She could have just let my client run his mouth and let him walk away. But she did not. I am not saying that my client was in the right but she could have just let him walk away being upset.

Mother was working the register and received a call from the hospital that she was unable to take awaiting Rebecca, manager, to relieve her from customer service to call them back. After mother calling Rebecca 10 times she finally gave relief with complaint. After finishing the call in less than five minutes and returning to post mother was met with Rebecca having attitude for relieving. Upon mother quitting job today after being aggressively sent home mother was met with even more attitude while Rebecca , manager was leaning against service counter gossiping to called in employee about mother's personal and medical business. Highly unprofessional management and unethical conduct.

I have shopped at Sam's and Walmart for years and I really understand that with affordable prices, Sam's/Walmart uses affordable labor. With that affordable labor comes challenges. I would like to start with the Automotive department CSR needs to be reassigned. He is a hygiene fail followed by constant challenges from customer requests that are the simplest form. From simple data entry to communication with customers. Not only with myself but my observation with other customers. The automotive technicians need training. From talking to customers to learning to communicate with CSRs on breaks to prevent customers from going elsewhere for service. This would improve customer interaction and drive productivity as well. My personal experience with this store has been below fair. I've been waiting on tires for over a week to find out they have been in for about the same time. I've called and can't get through. Once I get a break to check on status I am told they can install ASAP. Then I get pushback from the techs. This is after I suggest dropping off the following day. I spent another 30min just to find out it's now going to over 2hrs. Thanks Walmart. Now I'm in a great mood arguing with my wife over your staff messing up our Sunday morning and accomplishing nothing with you, on the partial day off that I have.
