Maybe I feel that way because the store we had just come from was a full fledged Amish store and this one is reaping the rewards from being in the area. Like the other reviews says, it is a great find in this area. Offering fresh deli meats and cheeses, when there is nothing else around and you don't feel like travelling far to grab a necessity like a meat or cheese. However, unless you are visiting or on vacation I doubt you would make it here anytime soon. It gives vacation vibes, a shop that you would step into to grab a cute souvenir or something to take as a gift. Prices, to me they are steep. But if you are willing to pay, go right ahead. They do have some great things, but a lot of it appears to be mass produced, even the prepackaged items that aren't fresh meat or cheese. It was worth the visit, but you kind of feel like you are in the wrong spot at first. This is part of a working farm, however it also feels like you are pulling into a family's home. The only giveaways that this is a working store is the sign and when you finally approach the door.

ALDI is probably my favorite grocery store because it is not a pretentious place. There are rarely any brand names here and people just shop for groceries to shop. Out of the ALDI stores I have visited this is probably the most well organized and stocked one out there. Which is a huge surprise. It is a newer store after all, which equates to a much brighter store. That helps with the feel that it is well put together. I was able to find everything on my list which is a rarity. Honestly it is very rare to find every single item you need in ALDI, but I did it. Which made for a great stop on my way home and for a straight line to put that purchase straight into the house.

But, they later go on to contradict themselves. We came here to finish up grabbing those items that we needed for the weekend. We had made multiple stops elsewhere and figured since we weren't able to snag them there, we'd have better luck getting them from here. Of course, that was true. Everything left on our list to get, was in house here. I also went off and did some browsing of my own. I like to hit the clearance section to see if there might be a steal. Most Walmarts have a centralized clearance section, but others have where a department might have an end cap that has their clearance. This store had a combination of the both. You just had to keep your eyes open and pay attention. Back to how my Dad and brother contradicted themselves. They had said that this store, even though smaller, carried everything they needed. While walking around grabbing the items we needed on the grocery side, my brother said something along the lines that he liked an item, but they didn't carry the brand they used to. Funny thing was, the item and brand of that item was literally right in front of us. Maybe they were out of it on their last visit, but I have no way of confirming that. At the end of grabbing everything, I opted for the self checkouts. I'd rather do that than having to wait and interact with anyone else.

For the physical location of this store it is literally at the line of Northern Cambria, literally just outside of the line. If you look on your receipt (if you take it) you will see that the address on the receipt states this location is in Carrolltown (with a Tennessee phone number, yes, look at your receipt). But, if you just happen to be reading this review, you will see that Yelp has considered this location to be in Hastings. However, maybe from the time that this location has opened and the time that you are reading this, this will all be figured out and you will not care either way. It is odd to see a DG here, especially since there is one in any direction of this spot less than five miles away. Northern Cambria is probably five miles wide to begin with and there is one down in the Barnesboro section of town. Especially since there were rumors that a gas station were to be on this land, but because of the closeness to the creek they wouldn't allow it (even though the Sheetz in town is right next to a creek as well). But I digress. What is nice about this location is that it is still new. Maybe this location is still in the honeymoon phase, but it is quite possible the best DG that I have been in in a very long time. It is bright, it is neat, it is stocked, there are no carts in the aisles, and I was able to find everything I needed. Odd. Never had that happen before in a DG. One thing about this place too, it feels a bit dystopian. You feel like you might be in a social experience. It feels like there are no staff in here, even though they are milling about in the aisles. But when you get to the checkouts, it is all self checkout with one singular checkout in case a customer needs to checkout with a check or buy a gift card. Like I said, this location is an oddity from the location to the state of the store.

To call it an anchor store at this mall is overdoing it a bit there. It is more on the lines of a combination of a Rue 21 and a Kitchen Collection store. Which I think might actually exist in this small mall. The bright side here was that at least the employees had an upbeat attitude about working in such a small store.
