I visited The Pig today, the first time in a long while. As soon as I walked up to the door, I…read moreremembered why I never shop here. There were 3 female employees talking directly in front of the main entrance. They never stopped talking long enough to move or even mention a greeting. I walked into the store and of course they didn't have the item I was looking for. The store is very clean but most items are so overpriced. I don't see how anyone can afford to do a weekly shopping trip there. I wandered through the store, not one employee recognized me. The weirdest part is... This Piggly Wiggly is also an Ace Hardware. So one aisle is frozen foods and the next aisle over is a paint counter. ???. When I was leaving, I walked right past several cashiers that were busy talking amongst themselves. Guess what? They never said one word to me either. I was walking out empty handed, you would think someone would inquire about that. So, once again, I have determined why I do and will continue to shop at Brooks located right across the street!

I've been shopping here for over a yr now, have always been frustrated with the lack cleanliness, poor produce selection and always having to check expiration dates on fresh items. Sometimes finding dates that are weeks beyond expiration. I shops at many other local stores, as well, but certain items that Kroger has, with coupons, I come here. The only thing that's going for this place is the customer service. They have a very friendly and helpful staff. Sad about the condition of this store...when will management notice? When will this store get a renovation?

This is the larger of the two grocery stores in town. There are buffet foods for people to pop in…read moreand grab on the go, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There is a small dining area for people wanting to stay in out of the weather. There is a KFC just down the road, but there is probably more fried chicken sold through this grocery store. The smell of chicken hits you in the parking lot. The store itself is OK. It has a pretty good variety of foods. It can lean a little heavy on generic brands, but some of those can be pretty good. The meat selection is pretty extensive. For a store, in a town with a population in the 5,000s, it is odd that I find frozen pizza dough here, yet I can't find it in my town of 15,000. Since Food Giant only has one other grocery store to compete with it would be easy for them to let the cleanliness and quality slip, but it is always clean and well-stocked.

This station is the next to last station on this side of town if you are headed toward the TN line. It isn't the largest or most modern of gas stations, but it's our preference over many of the others. I feel a sense of safety here that I don't get from the other stations. It stems from the fact that the man running this one carries a gun on his person. It is visible at a glance and I feel, that alone, should deter most ne'er do wells and instill a sense of fear in anyone with thoughts of doing harm or damage to the business or any of its patrons.

We were staying in Red Bay for a few days and needed a couple of prescriptions filled. Now, all the small pharmacies have gone out of business where we live and we have to rely on chains, so we are accustomed to waiting 2-3 days. Imagine our surprise when both were ready in two hours! Nice people in a home town pharmacy. Highly recommended!!
