Last Thanksgiving holiday, they closed early the day before due to slow business, I went there about 1 hour before normal closing time to get a ham, I hadnt got it for Thanksgiving dinner yet. I went to the owners house to see if he knew cashiers closed early. He said yes, he knew. Now with all stores closing early in town I thought I was going to have to drive into Bellfontaine for our dinner. The owner drove straight up to his store and let me in to shop for things I needed for the holiday dinner. He went out of his way letting me go in after closing time. I paid him back making him homemade cherry cheesecake. Downtown market is the greatest store around Lakeview Oh, I go there everyday.................................

And they have amazing prices compared to other thrift stores. I ended up purchasing 4 things - a dresser, two chairs, and a coat 'tree'. An employee walks with you, marks what you want to buy, then checks you out. They will then help you load big pieces. Shout out to Seth & Wayne for being an amazing help to us on a busy weekend.

I ordered a pair of boots and specifically stated that I did not want steel toe. They measured my…read morefeet twice and still ordered the wrong size and the wrong type. When I called about returning them, I was told I couldn't return or exchange them, even though the mistake wasn't mine. The phone conversation got heated and I was hung up on. When I went there in person the next morning, they did finally return the boots, but the owner was still argumentative and unprofessional about it. The whole experience left a bad impression -- I wouldn't recommend this place based on how they handle their own mistakes.

Judy has taken the time to collect and exhibit all kinds of wonderful things. Her collection has everything from plants for sale to mini collectibles to measuring spoons to door knobs. An excellent combination of stuff. Seeing the time and detail she has put into into each vignette I could not leave without buying something. Her facebook page is also evidence that I am not alone in how I feel about this shop.

She also accommodated my groups taste and made sure everyone was happy. The not so good part was that I gave my budget and the 2 dresses that I really ended up liking were $1000 over the budget I gave her, so I'm not sure why I was even asked for a budget... The real reason for the 2 star review is that the dress that I liked, an Essence of Australia gown was anywhere from $300 - $700 cheaper at the other bridal stores that I called who are authorized retailers. Being so far from Columbus (or anywhere) I expected them to be at least cost competitive to the other Ohio retailers from this brand (I mean, why go all the way to Kenton to then pay more?!?). If you are looking for an Essence Dress I would recommend Wendy's in Columbus, or Louise Christine (about the same drive) in Dayton, as they were cheaper for all 3 dresses I inquired about.

I was beyond ecstatic to go back and see what it was like now. But I was only majorly letdown. It seems like theyre only trying to reach hippie vegans. And the cashier lady that day kept making creepy comments to me about wanting my daughter and followed me around when I was looking at anything. Ill try going in and seeing if theyre any different later on in the week but Im still kinda weirded out by how creepy the cashier was.
