If your chicken has been tasting weirdly stringy, chewy, or rubbery, you aren't crazy! After looking into it, I found out that Miller Poultry uses fast-growth chicken hybrids (like the Jumbo Cornish Cross). Because these birds are bred to grow their breast meat unnaturally fast, it causes genetic muscle defects known as "spaghetti meat" and "woody breast." The muscle fibers literally break down and turn into tough, fibrous connective tissue. Even though they are raised on local Amish farms without antibiotics, the fast-growth genetics ruin the quality and texture of the meat. I can't keep spending money on chicken that is completely unpalatable. From now on, I'm switching to brands that explicitly use slow-growth heritage breeds or pasture-raised chickens. Has anyone else noticed this texture issue with their chicken recently?

Deli staff has a lot of turnover and the service has been mediocre over the past eight years. However, a young woman named Max waited on me yesterday and she was phenomenal. Produce is always fresh and I love the discounted bananas. Beer and spirits are rock solid in terms of offerings and the gentleman who runs the wine/ spirit area is a gem.

I called ahead of time and asked some questions, he was very informative. Later that day, I showed up with even more questions for Tom. He patiently answered them all and cut what ended up being the perfect amount of meat. I had just a little left over for some amazing breakfast tacos the next morning. In other stores I've been to, I don't usually get the kind of service he gave. I walked out confident (never having cooked a prime rib myself) that everything was going to be great. It truly was. Racks and pallets blocking entire aisles, product and merchandise on the floor, areas under construction that just look awful. Either complete the work overnight or temporarily close the store! There are usually minimal employees working and often the only option for checkout are the self-serve lanes. I liken the experience to the kind of place you would be sent on a side quest in a first-person zombie apocalypse video game. It's creepy, you waste time trying to find what you're looking for, and you are only happy when you gtfo. The best thing I can say about it is that it offers the local high school kids on off-campus lunch a place to buy a cheap meal or snack and now that the local Rite Aid is closed, it's the only place to buy package alcohol in Gaslight. The semi-recent overhaul and renovation of the Breton Village D&W made the Gaslight one look even worse by comparison. How this store managed to get THIS bad over the years is mind-boggling!

You don't find very many men's pattern comforters so I grabbed this one and promptly ran up to the checkout. So there are two people ahead of me in the checkout line. The first person had a cart load of groceries and of course there was something that wasn't scanning so we all waited for five minutes and nothing apparently got fixed. I finally asked the checkout person if she could call somebody else to open up another line. Another five minutes later, so this is a total of 10 minute standing in line with three people ahead of me by now there's five people behind me. Nobody else has coming up to open up any checkout lanes. Again, I asked the cashier is somebody coming only to get snapped at finally I asked for a manager and they said something about they only have so much staff and this is they're doing the best that they can why find this to be BS target can do better target has good products. Nice clean store but their customer service is very disappointing The sad thing is it doesn't ever seem to improve no matter what time of the day you're going to the store that's always gonna be a line and not enough cash register is open. I usually purchase the $1 soap at Big Lots, because I have a well and septic system, and I can't do antibacterial soap. This is the perfect price point, and there are many different varieties to choose from. We came in here today looking for some roller Shades, however they do not have roller Shades at Big Lots. Only curtains and sheers. So, we were distraught at our lack of roller Shades, but made it through. We did find other things to purchase in the store, and had the most amazing cashier name Devin helping us check out. All in all it was a great experience and other than shopping for roller Shades, will be back.
