The only options they offered were to rent from another company, come back, or take an Uber... I am up at 5 am to drive 50 minutes into rural Illinois for a customer engagement at 8. I can understand if my flight was delayed to the point they were closed or something, but other people on my flight were getting cars. The staff waited for that flight to come in and gave away the car I reserved weeks ago. The fact I was in the back of the plane meant I lost out on first come, first serve. When I explained my dilemma, I got a shrug. Well, you can get an Uber, come back tomorrow, or see if the other companies have cars, so I will. What's silly is that this is only my third trip for my company, but I will be doing it weekly here shortly. 50 weeks a year for years to come, that short-sighted choice to hang me out to dry will cost far beyond what they got off one rental today. Did I feel shocked? Sure, I was upset definitely, but the real clincher here is a practical one. If they don't honor reservations, how can I trust them? Arrived at 9p at MLI. Avis counter had no lights but had an agent at the counter. I had a…read morereservation for 930p so walked up to counter and said hello. No response. Asked if they wanted my drivers license. No response. I took it out and gave anyway. The agent took it but said nothing. After an awkward 10 mins w no acknowledgment or response by the agent I asked if she would tell me what was going on. She said she couldn't log into system. She walked between all three computers and tried to log in. She said that even though I have a loyalty number and Avis has my credit card on file that matches what I was giving her that she could not give me the car. Nor could she call Avis 800 # and have them process. We asked if we should could get a taxi or uber. She said no taxis and good luck getting an uber. No offer for help or apologies. We took an Uber for $40. Once I arrived at my hotel I called Avis 800 nbr. They looked at my reservation - tried to modify to pick up on Tue morning but system would not let them. They said I could go to the airport in the morning and see if I can still get a car. I asked about compensation for the uber and agent said he could not help w that. That I would need to talk to customer service - which is closed. Just all around horrible customer service.

There was NO ability to speak with anyone as the business card numbers all lead to business oriented messages. There was no human to speak with. So each of us very disappointed customers had to reach out to our families, mine being my 22 year old son , his wife and 6 week baby to come up 1.5 hours to pick me up in the rain as well as the other customers mother who must have been in her late 70's based on their age to drive the same distance from another direction to pick them up on Christmas Day!!! I HIGHLY recommend using another rental car company outside of their rental family including Alamo and National! Their customer service is horrific to say the least! Their staff couldn't even figure out that they shouldn't be charging me a one way fee from my final destination back to the airport, really??? Y screwed up my transportation on getting me to my destination and now you want to charge me a fee because of your mistake? Geeezzzzz!

Poor customer service!…read more I needed to rent a vehicle on short notice due to my vehicle having a transmission problem. I set up a vehicle online and headed over to the Moline Airport to pick it up at the scheduled time. As my ride was dropping my off I got a call from the Assistant Mgr. stating they didn't have my vehicle or any vehicles to substitute it with for that matter. I explained that I was already here and got no apology for not contacting me sooner and no help with finding a vehicle at another Quad City location. When pushed he offered to give me the phone number of another location. I don't blame Enterprise for anything other than employing the wrong type of person to provide customer service.

https://goo.gl/maps/E5dVb4w2HT72…read more Staff not helpful, not trained, they did not answer phone, reservation was given away before the scheduled pick-up time, then they cancelled my reservation upon my arrival (when they realized their mistake) -thus voiding the special-discount/coupon code, then did not resolve the situation even after THEY spent an hour using my cell phone to call both their own customer service and corporate, most unhelpful and most apathetic service ever.I made an: Online reservation for $29 SUV special, code showed on ticket but not the discount "i" (info button) said discount would be given at counter upon pick-up, I even tried to make a second reservation to attempt to check coupon validity, I tried calling to confirm discount and reservation but they never picked up even after 20 minutes, upon arrival inexperienced counter person informed me that she had just given away my reservation and even said it was her mistake and that she should not have done that, she did not offer any options other than "maybe" when I return the vehicle they might honor it... she seemed inexperienced & unhelpful, so I called 800 # customer support, they couldn't figure it out, they had me put her on the line, she tried to walk into the back office with my cell phone so that she could tell a different story, but she couldn't get it off of speakerphone!! They ended up transferring her to corporate after they found out that she had cancelled my reservation once she had realized that she had given away my vehicle, corporate couldn't fix it and offered to transfer her back to customer support!! It might not have been much of an issue, but she was checking her personal cell phone texts as much as possible...she just kept shrugging her shoulder at us the whole time and saying if you want to get a different Smaller vehicle at full price?? So, after the time online plus 20 minutes calling in advance,  plus 30 minute drive in, just over an One hour at the AVIS counter and a 30 minute drive back without a rental vehicle, so in total nearly 3 hours wasted...I can say that I think a rental from almost anywhere other than AVIS should at least be considered of not make a back-back-up reservation, - I will be be considering AVIS reservations as " a late resort "p.s. I had even taken screens hots of the advertisement from the AVIS website, and the coupon code and each step of the process just to be sure that I had the right information with me so that I could get going without missing some critical piece of info at the last moment....

Just got off the phone with this Moline, IL Avis rental desk. At this point in time I have made at…read moreleast 10 telephone calls to get a copy of my receipt for a car I rented directly from this location last week. I turned in my rental agreement and my key in the drop box just like it instructed me to do. They promptly charged my charge card $326.57 for the car but no one seems to be able to find any history on this transaction unless I give them the confirmation number which was, of course, with the paperwork. When they charged my card I would have expected an email receipt but nothing. I started out very patient with the woman who answered the phone tonight, even after the previous 10 calls, but when she told me that without the confirmation number she could not "do anything" I told her that was "ridiculous". She told me she did not have to listen to that and she hung up. I will be making a lot of noise with Avis customer service now. They only received 1 star because you have to in order to submit this. I will not deal with Avis again.
