My sweet mom who had dementia lived here for 2 years, 8 mos before peacefully passing. I live in New England , but was able to visit her every 3-4 months for a few days each visit. What I observed at Dolan is reason for my reviewing. Some of Dolan staff at her house were lovely, but a lot were not. The turnover of staff very concerning, over 30 workers left within my moms short time. The head RNs that ran the house as well. There is a huge lack of training for dementia, huge lack of engagement with clients, a lot of TV time as well. The music people that come in 1-2x a week are excellent and probably best part and the girl who came maybe 1x a week for a craft was lovely and engaging. But the personal care I'd give a zero to. I told management, Steve and Tim Dolan these negatives I saw, numerous times I was visiting and there was NEVER any follow up or changes. Saw the same lack of engagement every visit, weekends being the worst. Beware before you sign your family member up. I think all houses may be different. I'd recommend talking to other families before you sign up, not families that Steve or Tim recommend , but random families. Stop in unannounced see what is really going on,. Beware there is only 1 staff person on duty at house for 12 hours alone with 10 elderly people. They also expect the caregivers to cook and clean WHILE they are supposed to be engaging with your loved ones which I found odd. I was there too many times where 5-6 people lined up in front of TV and the 2 person staff not to be seen. It s difficult job, but please do your homework on the Dolan house your family member will be living before you move them there. read more

If you leave a love one at a Dolan facility, make sure you visit frequently. A lot is expected of the CNA's and some days it can almost be impossible what they want them to do. Our family had many issues and wrote emails several times. Never received any response from this company. For the amount of money they are charging these residents things should be much better than they are there. They are having trouble finding enough staff and what staff they have are not trained properly to handle dementia or Alzheimer's residents. My mom has been living in a Dolan home for over a year, and it has far exceeded my expectations. Dolan has provided a loving, happy environment for Mom where she continues to thrive. Moving Mom into a memory care home was such a difficult decision for my family; if we'd known how easy the transition would be for her, we might have done it sooner. The Dolan staff provided everything needed for Mom to have a smooth transition as she moved into her new home. What I most appreciate about Dolan is how they customize the care for each resident in a small home setting. The staff is perceptive about tuning into Mom's particular habits and preferences and meeting her needs. They are kind, skilled, and a lot of fun. There is lots of laughter in Mom's house. The staff genuinely enjoys the residents and there is a family atmosphere that continues to impress and amaze me. My mom has always loved being outdoors, and she can come and go freely into the lovely, large patio and back yard. It is secure and safe, but she can go in and out of the patio door on her own with a feeling of freedom. The house is arranged for family living and doesn't have the "institutional" feel of other facilities. The residents watch television together in the living room, eat together around a big dining room table, and enjoy lots of daily activities. Mom has made friends with other residents, and that companionship means that she is never lonely. Musicians visit the house regularly for sing-a-longs that I often attend and enjoy with Mom. The rooms are bright, cheery, and decorated like a home. Holidays are celebrated in a big way with parties, food, and decorations that include the families of residents and staff. I am so grateful to Dolan for providing such superior care for Mom. Alzheimer's is a difficult disease, but thanks to Dolan my family continues to enjoy happy times with Mom. I never knew that it was possible for her to be so content as she lives with this disease. I'm so grateful to Dolan for that! read more

My husband, Jim, has been at one of the Dolan houses for six months, and we are extremely pleased. The staff have created an easy-going, friendly environment in the house he lives in, and have consistently treated him with kindness and respect. They have gone out of their way to help me keep Jim involved in as many of his former activities as possible, and have even welcomed his continuing to take music lessons on-site in the house. They provide truly resident-centered, individualized care. I feel very fortunate to have an organization in our area that provides cutting-edge memory care like Dolan, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a non-institutionalized model of care for their loved one. read more

The Dolan house gave us peace of mind that we no longer had while mom was home by herself. All the staff is vey helpful, knowledgeable, caring and attentive to ALL the residents needs. Mom loves the food, great company & care she gets there. read more
