I wrote instructions on what he would need, and the first day I took him to stay with her, she told me she had also been doing research. 2 days later, I came to pick him up and his cage was spotless, he was happy, and overall I was so pleased with the service that I keep going back to her. Lovely woman too, always happy to look after him when I need her to :)

Came back from Florida yesterday and straight to a boarding kennels in Hereford to collect our very…read moremuch missed dogs after 16 days only to be faced with heartbreak and upset that the dogs were not looked after, my boy Oliver was so starved and looked so sad to see him looking thin was horrendous the kennels were filthy no water bowls to be found , when asking the owners what happened she said the bigger dog was eating all the food and left nothing for Oliver was so starved for 16 days Gaynor Carr asked why did she not feed him on his own she said...I didn't have room to do that , a massive argument broke out with the owners with the man who owned the kennels saying Oliver didn't stop eating and was a very fit dog. The other whippet Jasmine has lost 4kg in weight blood from her bowels, vomiting and dehydrated, they were rushed to vets and Oliver was scored a 2 out of 9 so the vet said it was a case of starvation and dehydration , both owners gave differant stories on how the dogs were looked after , never put dogs in kennels before and will not do it again , the kennels came highly recommended and were looked at beforehand, they seemed nice people and the kennels looked good , but when picking up the dogs they were in a back kennel we had not been shown , with no water and sleeping on filthy beds or a hard floor, dogs are being treated by a vet , this will be going further please share!

If you have a car, however, it's really not very far outside of the city - just about a 15 minute drive from the centre, when the traffic's good - and they are surrounded by countryside in which they can walk your dog while you're away. What's put me off using this business is the fact that the owner Tracy doesn't board all dogs herself - instead she has built up a small network of experienced dog lovers who are able to take pets into their homes and offer them their usual home comforts. Personally, however, I'd prefer to know exactly who my dog is staying with and get to meet them first, rather than going through an 'agent' who then places my dog in an available home. Also, when you visit the 'Carers' page on the website, the photos look like stock photos rather than pictures of real carers, which doesn't have that personal touch. On the other hand, I do know of two dog owners who have gone through this dog boarding business and their dogs have enjoyed really good breaks, so it definitely seems to deserve a few stars. The carers will happily stick with your dog's normal daily routine as close as possible so there's minimal disruption, and they'll cater for some special needs.

I've tried a few different places since I got her, not because I've been unhappy with any of them but simply because some I've used previously have been fully booked when I've called them again, so I've had to find alternatives. Helen's 'home from home' boarding is properly licensed by Cardiff County Council and owners who leave their dog in her care can receive text or email updates about their pet's stay, if they want. Helen doesn't accept dogs with any aggression, so you don't need to worry about your pooch being bullied during their holiday. And she herself loves dogs, so you know they're going to get plenty of attention. It's not the cheapest place to board your dog, of course - the charges are generally £20 per dog per day - but I think it's worth the cost to have peace of mind that your dog is also enjoying a holiday of its own while you're off sunning yourself! Helen seems to genuinely love dogs and when you go to pick your hound up after your holiday they seem happy and balanced, albeit pleased to see their real pack leader back!

I say we are unique because only the most very special dogs can stay here. Also living here are our own dogs, cats and chickens. Life is always fun and everyone gets on. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with fantastic walks to go on and lots of things to sniff and see. I walk with you and your dog to help get to know you both and you can do this as often as you like. There is also the change to leave your dog for a couple of hours to see if they like it. When staying your VIP (very important pooch) can send you updates on what they have been doing, so you know they are safe and enjoying themselves. In their busy stay in between walking, playing, sleeping and making new friends the visitors make cards to take home. It all adds to the fun! All you need to now is book a meet and greet and you and your VIP can see how you like it.
