After picking him up, the groomer said he did great and had no issues. When I brought him home, I noticed he was licking his stomach area and upon checking he had a gash that was red and irritated. I called, spoke with the owner and all she could give me was an "I'm sorry" and that "they didn't know it happened". As a professional, shouldn't you check your work and ensure the animal is safe and comfortable?? Do NOT take your dog here because their lack of empathy and professionalism is sup par. I was confident that my dog would look great. Unfortunately, when I picked him up, I didn't complain about his appearance. She did tell me if there was anything more I wanted done to tell her. There is nothing she could have done to make him look better. He is an elderly Maltese and I keep his hair long. I asked that he have his tummy trimmed, not to cut any hair off the ears. I also explained he gets food in the hair. Had asked for a clean shaven face. She suggested a poodle cut. I thought she meant for the face only. It looks like she attempted a poodle cut on the legs as well. He looks like my 7 year old granddaughter groomed him. I will not recommend this salon based on Teddy's appearance after he was groomed. I supposed if you have a dog that doesn't require specialized grooming, they would be fine. Definitely not for a Maltese based on my experience. The ladies at Geddes did a fine job handling him. Our other dog is a golden retriever named Gabe who I wanted to have groomed for bird hunting season, basically just taking off his burr-attracting feathering on his legs, belly and tail, and of course a toenail trim. I could not have been happier with the result. Although the groomer had not ever done this, she used resources that showed her a gun dog "sport cut," and nailed it. He looked great. She even pointed out a small yeast infection the old fellow had going on his chest and suggested how to get rid of it with cider vinegar. It worked! Am taking Gabe back for what might be his last bird hunting season as he's close to 11 years old now. He might be slower than he used to be in the woods, but he'll be looking better than ever.

We've bought squirrels and nuts and puppies and ice cream cones and I also bought a 'Corgi Cannoli' for my friend's dog - who is a Corgi mix. ;-P They also offer some grooming services. We have taken Artie in for nail trimmings in between his grooming appointments - a cheap and convenient service. We never want to need a place like Life Tails, but when we do it is so immensely comforting to know…read morethey are around. Our vet (The Visiting Vet) comes to our house for appointments, so when we knew our guy Franks had really just fought his last night with laryngeal paralysis we called her and she agreed to come over that afternoon. Our vet had already made all the arrangements, so we did not have to do any of the work, but Life Tails was truly amazing. After our vet left at 3:45, Life Tails was there by 4:05 to pick Franks up. They were so kind. I had to leave the room because I mentally just could not handle him being taken away, but Mr. MVP said they were very super gentle and made a funny and very helpful comment on how amazing Franks coat is (the gentleman thought Franks was all hair, but this made Mr. MVP laugh because Franks was BIG - 75 pounds big). Life Tails called us just two days later and we were able to pick Franks back up. He came back to us in a wooden box that suits Franks really well. We have used other cremation services in the past and have ended up buying other pottery or boxes, but this box does Franks proud. Some non-pet people may think pet cremation is crazy, but until you have loved and been loved by a dog for 12 years you will not understand how painful it is to have a four legged family member die. Life Tails helps makes this extremely terrible process less so.
