Alright, let's see. I drove by and figured I'd give the…read moreplace a go. The club is a Rowing Club, their main focus is rowing backwards aka sculling. They have classes for rowing, they have E-Row, the have classes for younger kids for rowing. This is a Rowing Club. Now. The club also has Surfskis. If you want to paddle Surfskis. Their surfskis are super nice. They have V5, V8s, V10s. You can start all the way from beginner and make your way to the olympics on V10s. The boats are in brand new condition. The paddles are grat. The club also has two functional outriggers but no paddles. But at least they let you paddle them, unlike all the annoying outrigger Hawaiian clubs who won't let you touch their single Outriggers for fear you might break something. I was mainly an outrigger guy, so I loved this place. The people in the club were great. Mainly Chris Flynn, Operations Director. He let me fix the outriggers and paddle them. When there was an issue with a former club taking away my paddle he made them give it back. Anything you ask and he is happy to give it a try, you need parts, classes. So, if you have some spare change and want to go paddle BIAC is the place. You can paddle backwards You can surfski for exercise when the wind picks up if you are bored, you can even outrigger and pretend you are Kamaaina."Local", want some community join the E-Rows and have a blast or just roll in and do your thing on your time, no one is judging. I have lived in the Peninsula for years and had no idea this place existed until I chaperoned my…read morechild's 2nd grade field trip here. The visit was very educational. The kids participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including working together to pull a fishing net and small fish out of the water. They were able to touch different fish, shrimp, and even small sharks, and observe plankton under microscopes. The staff were knowledgeable and engaging, and the kids had a wonderful time throughout the visit!

We had the best interactive learning experience here. Children were split up into 4-5 groups with an educator from the institute. We were lucky to be in Emma's group. The kids got to see and touch shrimp, fish, spider crabs, mussels, clams, sea sponge and more! We also learned about the leopard shark and got to pet one. The kids worked collaboratively to collect samples from the bay and even got to look at plankton under a microscope. At the very end of the field trip the children all pulled on ropes together to reel in a giant net. They caught a few fish. It was such a fun experience. Thank you!!! Highly recommend

He lives in Germany and has never surfed before, but has experience swimming and boogie boarding when he visits me in CA in the summer. All of the surf instructors were friendly, welcoming, and gave good attention to the kids. I think there was about one instructor per 3 kids. Tommy and Pete were great. Whenever I had a question or request they got back to me right away and were extremely accommodating. One thing to know, is that the weather in the Half Moon Bay area is mostly foggy and chilly June - July (maybe into August), though we had a few warm "beach days" in late July. My grandson said he never got cold in the water, the surf camp provided wetsuits and surf boards.
