BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU DEAL WITH THIS BREEDER. I can't speak to other complaint(s) but can about…read moremy own experience. As a lawyer by profession I tend to approach any major decision in the same manner I would a trial. Prepared with questions, emotions set aside and acutely aware of what I'm being told. In the fall of last year there was a litter advertised by this breeder so I called to enquire. I had spoken to a few other breeders during my search for a puppy and had my most pertinent questions prepared. At first I was told all puppies were spoken for, but, after speaking a short while, this breeder stated: "she liked the sound of me". My concerns started when this breeder stated she didn't want to bad mouth other poodle breeders, (namely the ones I mentioned I had already spoken to), but then went ahead and slandered them anyway. Without warning she started to ridicule one of the buyers on her list. Allegedly this buyer had asked questions that had annoyed this breeder. I was suddenly offered a puppy and told the other buyer would be put lower on the list. I was taken back and felt this was certainly underhanded and dishonest to say the least. It's still hard to understand how a breeder could be so flippant about her commitments and, more important, why she would openly gossip about one of her own customers with someone who was a virtual stranger to her. Her conduct was very unsettling and left me questioning the veracity of everything she had told me. I ended up buying from another kennel earlier this spring and have a wonderful puppy that I just adore. The breeder of my dog has been forthright and honest from my first conversation with her. Her dogs are gorgeous and her lines impeccable. She has never offered a disparaging word about any other breeder and has consistently been the consummate professional one would expect. She made the whole experience of buying a puppy an exciting and pleasant one, just as it should be. I can't say enough good things about her. I was invited to attend some dog shows this summer and had the chance to watch this exciting world. I have to admit, I also enjoyed showing off my puppy as well. When asked how and where I found my breeder I shared my story with others there. I heard numerous complaints, and, some rather damning comments about the owner of Delphinium Standard Poodles. Most were from her "alleged" peers but some were from potential buyers who had also contacted this breeder in the past. They too were left uneasy after speaking with Delphiniums. Recently, when discussing my story at a dinner party, I was encouraged to write a summary of my experience on Yelp. When I read the review from the man in Kelowna, my heart went out to him. I thought I should warn others and let them know that, based on my own experience, I would recommend you avoid this breeder. Amanda D., Toronto, Ontario

The home setting for the puppies and dogs is everything one could hope to see when picking a new family member. Penny was wonderful and made the experience incredibly positive for us. Her puppies and dogs are well loved and have the best possible start in life. I read the one star review from the lawyer and must say I was not impressed with the person that wrote it. I am left feeling that the puppy this person did not choose from Penny's litter, had a lucky escape. This is my first standard poodle and Penny's dogs are not only stunning beautiful, but also have wonderful and calm temperaments. Health is also something that Penny has bred carefully into her line. I give Penny and her wonderful kennel 10 stars!!!

We started with Dr. Large at another clinic but once we discovered she had moved to Benson View, we followed her there very quickly where we found the ladies at reception always kind and helpful over the phone or in person. Dr. Large was not only wonderful with our cat but also caring about us as pet parents, recognizing that we would do almost anything to keep our girl as comfortable and as happy as can be for as long as possible and there were times we could have been charged much more than we were. We will be forever grateful that she introduced us to Solensia to help with a very difficult paw problem (and to the kind techs who administered it for her) and that she discovered hyperthyroidism as a cause of severe digestive upset when another clinic did not even test for it prior to the surgery that seemed to trigger it. Dr. Large was very kind when it was discovered a few months ago that our girl likely had GI lymphoma, supporting us in our choice to not putting our fragile kitty through another surgery to definitively diagnose it when we knew we could not put her through chemo. The steroids (that would help either condition) worked very well for a few months until came the time to make the very difficult decision in a pet parent's life. We had been rather traumatized by the euthanasia of our previous kitty in a different city and were very apprehensive. We and our sweet little girl felt very supported by all of the staff at Benson View on her last day, having our own quiet room to go through the process of her passing, giving us time and privacy and it was a much more gentle experience for all of us. It may be some time before we are ready to have another special kitty enter our lives but when we do, we will definitely take any future pets to Benson View for care!
