I found that they didn't communicate with me appropriately or as often as I would have liked. They didn't allow dogs to play or interact with each other especially if they were large dogs, so they were crated the whole time. They allowed my dog to sit in her urine, so when I visited she smelled of urine. In the end, she starved to death. She also took no accountability, the first thing she said was "I hope you're not mad at me, this wasn't my fault" but she was under their care. Animal control was called on her, and because they had 1 video of them feeding her, and because of Zoe's history with anxiety they aren't going to charge her. So, if you have a pet with issues, find another location.

You don't have to have a set schedule, which makes a world of difference as far as my own schedule. The owner, John, is always welcoming, excited, and knowledgeable! The girls who work there are also so kind and ready to greet Romer, even at 6:30am in the morning. I highly recommend this place and tell everyone I know about how great it is. If you have a pup/dog and want him to have a fun day, this is the place for you!

Equally appalling and unacceptable is that it took the owner approximately two days to get back to me in regards to what happened. It took 15 days to finally find out what happened to my dog and APD had to get involved. My 5 month old puppy was attacked by another dog, and according to the autopsy, died a traumatic death. There are no cameras at this facility that could have put an end to this tragedy. There are no words that can describe the pain my family and I have gone through. If you love your pets, do not board them here.

The boys got baths and nail trims. They smell so fresh and have the cutest little bandanas on, and remarkably, their nail trims were successful. I don't know how the staff did it, but Amos has never successfully had his nails trimmed anywhere else. He is a shy dog and he gets grumpy about his nails, so I think it speaks volumes to the level of trust the staff built with him in just a week. Pretty amazing! If you need to board a pet, Lakeside Pet Retreat is a must.

I saw the good reviews and thought this would be the perfect place to board my cat while I was out. I booked him for ten days and warned them he may be a bit of a bully as he's not particularly a fan of other animals. On my return I found my cat covered in what I'm hoping was wet food and he reeked. I had to get him groomed before I could take him home. He also can home with what I thought was a cold but when I took him to a vet to look at the sores he had in his mouth he was diagnosed with feline herpesvirus, a disease he will now have for the rest of his life, and a secondary bacterial infection. I will not be taking him there again, and I don't suggest you do either. Especially given the owner was trying to gaslight me by swearing up and down everything was fine while he was there and he showed no signs of distress or sickness.
