We had a terrible experience when our seven month old puppy had his so called, "behavioral evaluation." Without any tour and the briefest of introductions, the 'evaluator' tried to drag our puppy away from us by his leash. He balked and was dragged a bit. We agreed I'd put him in her arms. I explained he was cautious with people but that wasn't accommodated.
He was taken to a room where he was not only 'introduced' to a couple of strange to him people but also five dogs he didn't know while we stayed in the waiting area.
When he was returned to us 10 minutes later I was told he was scared and had gotten onto a defensive posture in a corner. He had been afraid of the other dogs and the workers. This was said in an accusatory manner. I had already told them he was slow to warm up tp people.
The worker then said "He tried to bite me when I put his leash on!" She dramatically showed her arm. He hadn't bitten her. I said, "He is great at the dog park." The other worker said nastily, "This isn't the dog park!"
This is not professional behavioral analysis. Unless your dog is great with new spaces, immediately meeting new people and five strange dogs within a few minutes - well don't bother.
BTW - our puppy is 13 pounds, super sweet, loves other dogs when at the dog park and yes, warms up to people gradually. He doesn't nip or bite. We told them this, but there was no accommodation and no adjustment.
It seems to me that cautious puppies should have a gradual introduction to the daycare and not a trial by fire.
