All dogs are pre-screened before they are admitted so you know that your dog is going to have fun playing with equally friendly dogs. I love that they post pictures throughout the day to instagram so I can see what my fur baby is up to. I know when I leave my dog here she's in good hands. I can send my pup there once a week or once a month with their reasonably priced multi-day passes that can be purchased in advance. My dog loves it here too. Whenever we cross the street and get within a few yards of the front door, she goes nuts wagging her tail and practically dragging me to the entryway. The staff are super attentive to all their pups and I love watching their Instagram stories looking for my dog throughout the day. And let me tell you, these people really care about dogs! After my dog was attacked elsewhere by an off-leash dog, I was nervous to send her back to any doggie daycare situation, but I let Park Bench know of my concerns and they kept her in the small dog area on her first day back until they were certain she felt comfortable going into the medium/large dog area and they reported back that she did fine. Despite my initial anxieties, their care and concern for helped me feel comfortable sending her back and getting reintroduced to other dogs after several months of not being around dogs while she was recovering. Another thing I love about this place is its story. My dog has been going there since 2017, shortly after Nathan set up shop on what was then the outskirts of Fishtown proper. It's been exciting to see Park Bench flourish along with the neighborhood itself. Then COVID hit and for a minute things looked grim; we all thought they were going to have to close. But Park Bench was given the opportunity for a second chance thanks to fellow neighbor, Becca, who has kept it going since those tenuous 2020 days. Park Bench is not only a great doggie daycare, but -- sitting mere blocks from the site of Rocky's gym Mighty Mick's -- it's also a symbol of how Philly's grit, resiliency, and neighborhoods can produce a great comeback story.

If you are enrolled in daycare, they also offer boarding, and are generally pretty flexible and accommodating, though space is definitely limited. I highly recommend Ruff Life. The classes started on time, and were structured with different skills each class. We started warming up our dogs before jumping into new skills, which was nice. They did a great job at making sure there were no nose to nose interactions between the dogs and were very patient with the more reserved dogs. We would definitely consider taking another class with Unleashed because their instructors clearly know their stuff! Our dog has mastered "touch" and "place", and he has gotten a lot better at "stay". Emily even taught him a cute bonus trick "wave"! Thank you!!

From the first conversation with Caleb I was comfortable with his approach. He was thoughtful and wanted to know about our Golden Retrievers personalities and schedule. He even did a meet and greet before we moved it. His first experience with the girls was the day of our move into the new townhouse when he took them to start their staycation at Caleb's place. He is fantastic with the girls. He also is a great communicator sending lots of pictures and texts to let us know how they are doing. He is punctual and very accommodating and provided advice on groomers, vet and vendors in the area. In fact, when I needed some help with lunchtime walks while waiting for another service to start he fit us into his schedule. The girls have so much fun with him they now spend 1 daycare day a week with him and the pack. They are going to board with him again next weekend and it's like I'm sending them to family.

I called up Wag Days and asked whether my dog had gotten the bath I paid for. They told me that she had not and that they told me that when I picked up my dog. That was a LIE. Why would I walk out after paying $40 without rescheduling the bath or getting a refund? Once I confronted them about this fact, they hung up on me. I eventually spoke to the owner manager who admitted that her staff lied to me. I told her that I would never leave my dog at a daycare facility that would lie about something like this. I would never go back. Plus, the manager of Fishtown facility, Alexia, is a snooty little B.

She pulls to get there in the morning and loves the owner, Don. The socialization has really helped her break out of her shy shell as she was 5 weeks when we got her and didn't really have a mother. Don was willing to feed her as a puppy at no extra cost, which no other place would do. Although they don't walk the pups (due to liability) she comes home exhausted from play and can't wait to go again the next time. We've never had an issue with her coming home and doing her business in the house; she knows from good and bad...so she knows that it's okay to go inside at the Barker, but that does not translate to home. Another commenter said it smells when you walk in the door, they do clean up after the dogs and they do play with them during the day...I've seen it first hand, even though the dogs have much more fun playing with each other.
