We have taken our Aussichon dog to this place twice before today. Both times we tried to explain how we wanted him groomed, but he ended up looking nothing like his breed -- more like a female spaniel with long, broom-like ears. This time I came prepared and brought a reference photo to clearly show the style we were hoping for. When I arrived to pick him up, I was asked to pay immediately and even left a tip before I saw him. When they brought him out, I was shocked -- he looked nothing like the reference picture I had provided. I calmly gave my feedback and explained that this was not the result we were hoping for. The groomer came out and said, "Sorry, I did the best I could. He moves around too much and I don't think he is a good dog for grooming." In other words, the problem was blamed on the dog rather than the result of the grooming. Our dog has been groomed before, including when he was younger, without any issues. She then told the front desk to "just give her a discount if she's not happy with the cut." I explained that I wasn't sharing my feedback to ask for a discount -- I simply wanted them to understand that the result was not what we had discussed. They offered a discount for a future service, but I told them we would likely not be coming back. At that point the groomer responded with "Good luck!" and shut the door as she walked away. I have honestly never experienced anything like that in my life. The person at the register apologized and mentioned that the groomer is "going through a lot right now," but that does not excuse such unprofessional behavior. Our experience from the beginning was not pleasant. The woman at the front desk was not very welcoming when we drop our dog off or when we picked her up. I also don't like how strict they are with respect to picking our pet up. If you are more than an hour late after they called you, they'll charge you by the hour. I never experienced this before anywhere. We took our papillon and they didn't do a good job with her haircut. It kind of looks like we did it ourselves during the pandemic. My baby boy was a rescue. He was found on the side of the road. His ears had never been cleaned, he was never groomed. Needless to say my boy needed WORK. I called on a Thursday and they were able to fit him in. Wow! Words cannot describe the 360 they gave my pup. He looks like a brand new pup. They give him a nice designer cut and he smells so good. It's been a week and he's just now starting to lose the yummy scent the groomers left on him. I have to come back to this location and take pictures of the interior. If I could give it no stars would be so much better. I just moved in new to this beautiful town, I have to say I wanted my dogs nails to be trimmed in this place and they were not able to trim them. They claimed my fur baby was uneasy to handle. All the dog was doing just pulling her leg back. These people have no experience in handling animals and they need to learn how to treat people. They're so rude, Incompetent , and by they way they're prices are ridiculously high to get mistreated. If they treat you like that imagine how they must treat the dogs when you leave them there. I feel so embarrassed for the town to have a place like this in here. I've been to Immokalee and the service there is amazing where ever you go. It's a shame that Ave Maria has a place this horrible in here. After I spoke to a few people in town they also agreed with me that they are as I described. So my dog has anxiety issues since he was a puppy, I got him like that, but when hes with me and the family, he is the best dog in the world. He just gets really nervous when he has to go get his nails cut. I've been to Dog Gone Cleaners 3 times now and the last time, will be my last. As I was approaching the desk, one of the girls goes "Oh its the psycho dog". At first it took me by surprise, but that was so disrespectful. Say that to your co-worker, NOT in front of the dog owner. Anyways, I thought it was so unprofessional and rude. Hes not psycho, he has an anxiety problem. read more
