Then we found Home Buddies, and Annie has never been back to the boarder since. The service provided by the Home Buddies staff is so caring and professional. They set up an initial meeting at our house to get to know Annie and us, to see what her normal daily routines and our expectations were, and to talk about what a normal visit could look like. They offer several options, and we chose once-a-day 30-minute visits where they would refresh Annie's food and water as well as play together or go for a walk. We gave them a house key and a code for our home's security system - which, honestly, takes a good bit of faith to do upon a first meeting. But I would do it again in a heartbeat, as our faith in Home Buddies has only gotten stronger. They have proven to be an excellent and reliable source of care for Annie on numerous occasions. Short trips, long trips, holiday weekends, vacation weeks - Terri and the staff at Home Buddies are there any time we need to leave our friend at home without us. It was a rough week battling parvovirus, but we took things day by day with their detailed instructions. She is now back to her silly and vibrant self. Like any first time dog parent, I didn't have pet insurance or the guidance to know what to do in such a scary moment. Time was crunching and my baby Akira needed care ASAP. AZPetVet understood the urgency of my puppy's needs and got her in immediately. At this point I had called about 8 vets and was about to drive 5 hours up north to see a vet on the reservation. Each place I called understood the urgency but wasn't able to accommodate us. AZPetVet immediately conquered all as they were able to set up a payment plan through a third party company which allows us to make interest-fee payments every month. You do have to put down 20% the day of the visit, but it's much better than paying in full. I also appreciated how AZPetVet routinely called us to make sure Akira was doing well and answered any questions I had. I was advised of this when she was brought back in the room, no big deal it happens. However, I had to dry her off with Kleenex tissues that were in the room and she's a long-haired pup. I use a lot of tissue and my hand was then covered in her urine. I tried to use the sanitizer on the wall near the door when I went to leave the room and the sanitizer did not work and the tech said oh dang sorry. I wish my dog would've been patted dry prior to bringing her back to me so that my vehicle seats don't get wet and so she's more comfortable, etc. And I wish the sanitizer was full so I didn't leave there with urine on my hand. The follow up phone conversation the next day with the doctor was very insightful and a plan was put in place for her well-being. I will continue to go back likely this was an isolated incident, and all the staff members were professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The rooms were clean and well maintained other than the sanitizer being empty. The staff at the front desk were polite, courteous, and professional as well.
