If I did not choose this gym, I don't think I would have stuck through with my fitness journey…read more Point-blank and simple. When I first wanted to start working out, I was fairly uncomfortable with the idea of being in a huge gym and having to work out in front of people. I looked for a long time to find a space that was close to me that offered privacy. Sevenbell was one of those gyms, and while it was a little inconvenient to get to from my location, I decided to give it a try. I believe it was one of the best decisions I made. The gym is always spotless, never crowded, and I always felt comfortable in the space. When I went here (I no longer live in the area and have since changed gyms) I actually looked forward to coming every day, because I knew I would not have to sit around and wait for a machine to be free, or have to deal with rude people making noise and slamming weights. If you are like me and are looking for a gym that is clean, quiet, and accepting of everyone no matter where they are on their fitness journey, then this is the place for you. It is well worth the price and I could not be happier with the time I had spent there. Also, the personal trainers are amazing. I worked with Jesse while I was there, and I felt he did a great job with giving me a foundation to work with in my personal workouts. Cam (who is like 6'5 and looks like The Hulk after he transforms) walked by me one day and mentioned that I looked bigger, and that my form was good. It felt like I won the lottery :)

He also has helped with meal planning and explains the science behind his workouts which i really appreciate. I've never really seen more than 10-15 people in the facility at a time, and as someone who hates big gyms, it's a super welcoming environments for complete newbies like myself. The classes keep me on track, and I'm seeing real results. I never, ever thought I'd be someone who enjoys jogging on a treadmill, but now I actually look forward to it. Coach Maddy brings great energy and creative themed classes. I love Coach Frankie's music picks--they make early morning workouts go by faster. And Coach Nai has a great way of offering helpful tips without making anything feel awkward. Luke is always so welcoming at the front desk. This location stands out for its thoughtful amenities: they offer gym and shower towels and a full locker room--something you don't always find at other storefront studios. OTF Park Slope is also a fun way to meet more people in the neighborhood, and the Instagram shout-outs add a nice touch of motivation. I hope corporate OTF will upgrade the app and the fitness band to more modern tech - I'd love AI analysis of my stats. I recommend Orangetheory Park Slope to anyone looking for a fresh, encouraging way to get into fitness.

I first came in because of an offer for a first class free. My rep showed me how everything worked, including the heartbeat monitor on the arm band, which they give you for free on your first visit. An instructor walked me around the studio explaining the class format and made sure I was comfortable with water and a towel. When class started he periodically checked in with me but was not overbearing. I loved how while everyone worked out individually, seeing everyone's stats on the screen did make it feel like a team effort. I really appreciated learning about the different heart rate "zones" and later did research on this when I got home. My sales rep explained the pricing tiers yet was not pushy which I appreciated and I signed up within the week. The app made it very easy to book, see stats, etc. The club has fun challenges each month and really does have a sense of community. It was always clean and you can tell instructors here really care about the members. I only quit because I ended up moving to another neighborhood but this gym truly did change my physique while I was a member, making me stronger and noticeably had an impact on my cardio endurance. I'd recommend this gym to anyone.

Cons: Overcrowded, poorly managed, and inadequately maintained. Machines are often placed in strange locations or too close to one another as the gym has made more room for group/trainer activities. The locker room usually has piles of its dirty OLD towels (and usually very few clean ones), grubby lockers with broken latches, and showers with terrible water pressure and temperature control. And the recently updated black stairs between floors lack the safety markings they previously had. Most baffling and infuriating is the closing-time cleaning during peak hours (around 5PM). I've repeatedly witnessed staff vacuuming carelessly around members, their belongings, and occupied machines, with cords stretched across busy workout areas. I've also seen floors being mopped during these hours. WHY schedule such disruptive, potentially hazardous cleaning when the gym is PACKED? I've seen people trip over the cords, though partially because everyone is staring at their phones... That's another thing that's getting worse here: members monopolize machines while scrolling through their phones, people set up tripods and make content without regard for others' privacy (this should not be allowed), some of the trainers are obnoxious/loud, and the gym floor seems largely unsupervised. (You'd think with all the cleaning, someone could pick up the numerous discarded wet wipes or equipment tossed wherever.) Even the front desk often feels indifferent to hostile; I'd say I get an actual hello back/acknowledgement 1 out of 10 times I check in. It's rude. But this whole location has become more rude in general. Again: POORLY MANAGED. None of these problems is particularly difficult to address. They simply require attentive management, sensible policies, and basic consideration for paying members. And renovate the locker rooms/showers already, for real this time. Considering the cost of membership here, they should be nicer. Unfortunately, after years of declining standards, members increasingly seem to be this location's last priority.

When it comes to classes the gym has a hot yoga space, a cycling space, a barre/zumba/strength training space, as well as the turf which I mentioned above. There's something for everyone. If you want to just jam out on a peloton bike by your lonesome - have at it. Want to sweat to your hearts content? Get on an open stairmaster or do a solo lifting session with an open top quality squat rack. Seriously, you have options. Seeing as it's January, it's crazy packed during rush hour times but try coming on off hours if you're a member or interested in getting a tour of the gym. Sure, the noise level can be super annoying when there's a class being held on the turf but nothing noise cancelling headphones can't handle. Oh, and the steam room is dope. Love doing this after a super hard workout. All in all - don't sleep on this gym.
