Oklahoma City (OKC) is doing amazing things to attract tourists, and the OKC Streetcar is one of…read morethose amazing things. Providing clean, safe, easy to use, and inexpensive transportation that hits the highlights of the city is essential if you want tourists to see all that OKC offers. On a recent visit to OKC, I picked up a flyer that had a detailed map of the two streetcar lines. It also had a QR code that took me to a website where I could downloaded the OKC Streetcar app. The app is a great way to buy a ticket on your phone. However you can also buy one at the kiosks found at each platform stop. Tickets are $1 per ride, but you can also buy a $3 day pass or longer passes (monthly) if needed. There was no need to scan my ticket before mounting the streetcar. I simply had to press the "use ticket" button on the app on my phone. The main loop took me all over the city. It operates seven days a week and goes from early in the morning until late at night. The Bricktown loop only operates on the weekends. It's a shorter loop that hits the tourist center with the riverfront. Fortunately, the main loop that operates daily does the Bricktown loop too, so you can still get around and see it all. I was able to ride the streetcar from the botanical gardens to another area of town where I could get lunch. I also used it to see the OKC Museum of Art and to return to my hotel in an area of the city called Bricktown. I actually rode the streetcar the entire loop just to see the different areas of town. The streetcars come frequently, but you always have a nice sheltered bench to sit and wait. During the weekday, there were only two other people onboard with me. It was nice and cool inside. I appreciated being able to escape the sun and heat of the day and get off my feet for a short time. The streetcars are pristine inside and out. The route stops were clearly indicated on maps inside the streetcar as well as at the platform waiting area. Each streetcar announces the upcoming stop on a speaker and flashes it across an LCD panel near the driver. The driver is in a separate room at the front, but he was nice enough to answer my question before we continued on our way. Oklahoma City is a hidden gem in the heartland of America. It took two years for my husband to convince me it was worth the short drive north to visit the city. Improvements like investing in the new OKC streetcar are one of the many reasons I would recommend visiting OKC.

I can't even decide where to start with this guy. This was the WORST experience with a travel…read moreagent. If I hadn't had any experience with travel agents in the past, he would certainly steer me clear of using them in the future. Don't get me wrong, he's not a bad person, he just does not know how to make traveling easy for a group. Which is literally his only job. He would procrastinate on asking for requests from the hotel and staff for our off-site meeting until it was last minute and then expected us to immediately jump on answering the questions. I wondered why this kept happening until I was looped into a thread of emails between him and the hotel. I saw that he had waited an ENTIRE MONTH to respond to their questions! If he had surveyed our group in the beginning (like an experienced travel agent would), there would have been no rushing for answers. I'm thankful that he allowed us the chance to review birth dates and names for our flights because he had transposed multiple people's information. These were items he could have directly copied and pasted to avoid an error. When it came time to order food for our meeting, he sent me a 49-page menu. FORTY-NINE pages with absolutely no direction as to how to interpret the meal options. Turned out that I interpreted it incorrectly and had to end up speaking directly to the hotel. Had he been doing his job correctly, the process of ordering food for our meeting would have been a non-issue.

I was dismayed that I was then informed that there was a no refund policy. I was told the policy was on the web site which I did find with difficulty. i did not make the reservation on the web, it was made on the phone and the refund policy was not discussed. So Mr. Cotton told me he would try and rebook the limo and refund the booking IF HE COULD FIND REPLACEMENT BOOKINGS for a SUNDAY. I had booked 10 hours on Sunday. If he could not completely rebook I would have a credit, I could use at any time. I live in Houston and that was of no help at all. On Saturday at 1pm I called to see what was going on with the credit. He had not been able to rebook, but said the phones were still ringing. I got this insight that he was not going to get in any bookings and planned on keeping my money knowing he would never be liable for the service. I reinstated the service although this made a bad situation worse and added a burden to my family in a difficult situation. The driver came and was very professional. The Limo was in good repair and adequately stocked for a whole day on the road. The driver was familiar with the route and required only minimum of direction to various individual places, in fairness not on gps. I leave it to the reader to evaluate the situation. I FEEL that the inflexibly of VIP Limo policy was small and petty. And this added to the grief of my family. But then I am not in a good place to render an objective judgement. If you rent from them know there is an absolute NO REFUND policy..
