I'm a fan of Level Four, but I don't feel qualified to say they're the best in the business, though they are certainly the best I've encountered in my limited experience. Level Four has actual metrics they use to make their recommendation whereas their competition (specifically: Cranial Technologies, Inc) seems to make their recommendations based on feelings and assumptions. Though my assessment may not be valid, Level Four seems to have a much more accurate and quantitative system of evaluation which provides ratios and percentages and uses fancy math to describe the symmetry of a child's head while the other place took a neat 3D picture and pointed to parts of his skull saying things like; "that looks a little uneven there" and "that probably won't correct as he gets older." Level Four's pricing is almost half of what the other place charges for what appears to be a nearly identical product, but I feel like Level Four does a better job evaluating and they were not pushy at all. At Cranial Technologies, Inc, I felt a little pressured to proceed with treatment though they were very nice. Level Four's office was not as fancy as Cranial Technologies, but it was clean and the office staff was friendly - we felt very comfortable and the man that evaluated my boy was super gentle, very genuine and likable. In the end, Level Four said that my son does not need to use a band - his symmetry is not perfect, but it is extremely good, nothing abnormal and will improve as he develops.

When I was clearly hesitant I was told the cost is like getting your kids braces (hence the cost) and that insurance covers it through reimbursement, except Medicaid. When I expressed doubts that same-day and tried to return, I was reassured insurance would cover (the sales person seemed almost insulted when I said I had researched and I didn't think it was covered), and the store doesn't bill insurance directly. I was promised billing codes by email; never got them I tried returning it the same day and the next two days, and got three different explanations of the return policy over three visits. Was offered a partial (not substantial) refund at one point which means they can refund if they choose but they won't. Their printed policy (which you only see after you have paid and get the receipt) only covers shoes/cushions, not the arch supports (most of the cost), and never mentions needing to "try it first" -- that came up only once I asked for a refund. It is also extremely vague. I was directed to a QR code with the policy only after I had already paid and came back to return. Get pricing and the return policy in writing before anything, and call your own insurance first. The sales process felt designed for people in pain who are just desperate for relief and not as likely to push back against cost. That was my experience at least. If the product is so great a company should not have to resort to shady sales tactics.
