AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID…read more My son needed a $4 inhaler and the hotel doctor (who works for St. Lukes) told me we needed to bring him to urgent care to get said inhaler. There they gave him some meds, and he was fine, but said they legally couldn't continue to treat him and we needed to go to a pediatric hospital. They told us legally we needed to take an ambulance and we were whisked off an hour from the resort in middle of night. There they started taking X Rays and told me they needed to draw blood and give him an injection, which seemed insane. When I told them no, they got stand off ish and told me if I refused whatever care they recommended (mind you we just needed a prescription for an inhaler) I would have to pay the bill in full, they would not go through insurance as promised and would not discharge my son without full payment. We were effectively held hostage, with them demanding I sign onerous paperwork and pay almost $7k usd or my son wouldnt be discharged to me. When I said I didnt have that kind of limit on my credit card, they told me to call the bank and say it was an emergency. I finally paid, but based on the various LA Times articles and user reviews, we got out cheaply. The US consulate warns against this place and this very scam. Watch out and avoid. They partner with the hotels to get business funneled in and then do a ton of unnecessary work and wont let you leave unless you pay extraordinary fees AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

St. Luke's Hospital in San Jose del Cabo is amazing! While on vacation, our daughter had a very…read morehigh fever, lethargic, and incontinence and needed medical attention. The entire staff, from admissions, triage and building staff to the nurses, specialists and doctors, were very knowledgeable, professional, kind and caring. We felt very confident with their services and care. Admissions staff worked with us to coordinate with our medical insurance provider Kaiser Permanente in the U.S. and communicated with us every step of the way. We paid nothing as everything was handled through insurance. Nurses and doctors updated us about what they needed to do (tests, procedures, results) and when and how medications would be administered. They also informed us of staff shift changes and not to hesitate to use the call button for help with toileting and anything else. The facilities are very modern, comfortable and clean. The furniture, television entertainment, and various lighting options in the hospital room made our overnight stay restful and safe. Food was decent, too. Paperwork was clear and easy to understand, including test results, prescriptions and nutritional information. Medications to take home were provided by the doctor from the on site pharmacy. They even provided us with a ride back to our hotel after discharge. We want to especially thank pediatrician Dr. Jimarez, and nurses/staff Ana, Monserrat, Jacqueline, Karen, Lety, Shiela, Andrea and Alejandra. Our daughter who is usually afraid of needles, medicines, and procedures, didn't cry at all during our 24-hour stay. God bless you all! Thank you to St. Luke's Hospital in San Jose del Cabo for taking care of our daughter - diagnosing her illness, providing medical care, and helping her heal and recover. Highly recommended!

Where do I start, this place is outdated and unprofessional. I was there for a emergency and…read moreWas charge on my credit card before I got any service. They do not accept health insurance so you have to use credit card. Save your self the hassle and go to another hospital if you can. For simple pain medicine is $4420.28 US dollars? Stay away from Centro Medico Cabos San Lucas…read more The hotel/resort doctor from Playa Grande recommended we go to this hospital. First we get hit up with a $3500 deposit, then after a couple tests, they try to get you to stay overnight for treatment. I insisted on going home and the final bill was $2800 for a blood test, an x-ray, and an IV of saline. The funny thing is there was another American tourist in the bed right next door and she got the same spiel almost verbatim for a completely different problem. I walked around a bit in the facility and we seemed to be the only two patients there--a real hospital would have more patients. CMC provides ok medical care, but they jack up the prices to prey on stupid Americans when they are at their most helpless and their insurance providers. And the fact that Playa Grande and the Sol Mar resort group is complicit in this is really despicable. Looking around on Yelp and TripAdvisor, it seems like a few people have gone through this experience. If you're reading this because you're in Cabo and need medical attention, congratulate yourself for having the state of mind to actually do a few minutes of research first. I can't tell you where to go, but I can certainly tell you where not to go, and that's CMCSL.

I broke my arm (compound fracture) and needed emergency surgery. Fortunately, we knew of an ortho…read moresurgeon in Cabo and contacted him on the way to the hospital. There are several hospitals that have been sued for predatory fee charges, but someone recommended Blule Net Hospital in Cabo. While the services were good, they required a $30,000 deposit before they would do anything. I stayed in the hospital for 2 1/2 days and had antibiotics. The surgeon was good (my ortho here said no major issues that she could see yet) and the hospital staff very attentive and friendly. However....usually a 3 day stay in a hospital after this type of surgery is $8,000 to $13,000 and they were requiring $67,000. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS ISSUE, THERE IS AN EASY FIX: contact your credit card company and state "This hospital used predatory pricing and preyed on our situation and distress. Reverse the charges since they never provided upfront pricing nor did they ever (even after four month) provide an invoice." Also, contact the PROFECO in Mexico that handles consumer and billing grievances and they WILL (!!!) file a medical complaint. After a hospital has so many of these complaints, the government will close them down. Yay! I also have an attorney in Cabo who will be representing me; contact me directly if you need their contact info.

They said they would bill insurance. I texted with hospital to see the bill. 77000 pesos whixh is about $4500 USD. Found out that the international billing office bIlled my insurance $50,450.06 USD. TOTALLY DISHONEST .It would have been better to deny having insurance paid the bill and submitted it myself. BEWARE THIS HOSPITAL AND DISHONEST PRACTICES.
